    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous centrifuge capable of effectively sterilizing or cleansing a specimen line without removing a rotor.
      SOLUTION: In a continuous centrifuge comprising a cylindrical rotor for separating a specimen, a centrifuging chamber in which the rotor is housed, a driving means for rotating the rotor, and a specimen line for continuously supplying and discharging the specimen to and from the rotor during rotation of the rotor, a cleansing mode which flows a liquid chemical through the specimen line so as to carry out sterilization and/or cleansing while rotating the rotor is provided. In the cleansing mode, the rotor is rotated at a rotation number of such sufficient slow rotation that bubbles remaining in the rotor can be discharged into the specimen line, and the vacuum pump is stopped.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that though it is desirable that as a heater to gasify oil of an oil diffusion vacuum pump used for a centrifugal separator, one having a large heat capacity is desirably used to heat early an oil to the vaporization temperature or more, if the oil is heated more than required, since the oil is early volatilized and consumed, when the heater is intended to be controlled at a suitable temperature, the temperature of the heater is liable to generate overshoot and undershoot with time, and the vacuum degree hunts to reach a high vacuum while the vacuum degree largely fluctuates. SOLUTION: The separator includes a means for detecting the heater temperature of an oil diffusion pump, and a means of controlling the heater temperature of the oil diffusion pump. The control means controls changing the heater part temperature of the oil diffusion pump from a first predetermined temperature to a second predetermined temperature after a predetermined period lapses from the heating control start. A valve 81 cutting off the communication of the vacuum pipe 8 is provided in the intermediate of the vacuum pipe 8.
