    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fastener or trim retainer capable of attaining remarkably improved uniformity of pulling force, reusable performance, self-alignment at the time of insertion, and minimization of arm setting, and preventing an undesirable setting state by designing a rib so that respective arms are not excessively compressed or crushed more than desired so that the retainer is passed through a designed sheet metal hole. SOLUTION: The retainer employs a flexible arm with an internal rib. In another aspect of the present invention, the retainer has at least one generally triangularly shaped projection laterally extending from an arm. In a further aspect of the present invention, the retainer has a laterally enlarged member, a trim panel-retaining head and stem, a central post, one or more flexible wings flexibly spanning between a tip of the post and the laterally enlarged member, and an internal rib and/or at least a pair of generally angular extensions flexibly extending from each arm. SOLUTION: A resin panel 50 has a locked portion 51 with a lock hole 52, while a door trim 30 has a locking arm 41 with a lock pawl 43 to be inserted/locked into the lock hole 52. The locking arm 41 has a crushing wall 45 on the opposite face to the face on which the lock pawl 43 is provided. When the locking arm 41 is inserted into the lock hole 52, the lock pawl 43 and the crushing wall 45 forcibly expand the lock hole 52. In this inserting operation process, the crushing wall 45 crushes an inner wall 52A of the lock hole 52, and when the inserting operation of the locking arm 41 is completed, the crushing wall 45 is irregularly fitted to lock hole 52 in the state of being bitten into the inner wall 52A thereof.
