    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form signatures easily from printing data.SOLUTION: The data generation device for generating an imposition data for imposing plural pages on a printing matter includes: a folding data conversion section that converts a grid data which defines an imposition by means of a position, a page number and an orientation of each page into a folding data which defines a position, a folding direction and a folding order of a folding line for forming a signature by folding the printing matter; a folding trial section that tries a folding on a virtual printing matter simulating the printing matter based on the folding data so that the page numbers of the pages facing to each other as a result of the folding are sequence numbers and the orientation of the pages thereof is identical to each other; and a folding information obtaining section that obtains, when the signature can be formed by the trial folding, the trial result as a piece of folding information representing the position, the folding direction and the folding order of the folding line for forming the signature by folding the printing matter.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus provided with a function of fixing a movable unit when carrying, whose dimension is downsized and the manufacturing cost is reduced.
      SOLUTION: In the apparatus provided with: a CCD unit 27 including an engagement projection 27G sensed by a position sensor 41 at an initial position and the engagement projection 27G to be fixed at a fixed position; and a unit fixing device 80 including: a main body section 80B of nearly a cylindrical shape and turned in a circumferential direction, a key section 80C engaged with the engagement projection 27G, and a sensing projection 80D sensed by the position sensor 41, the position sensor 41 is located so that it senses the engagement projection 27G when the CCD unit 27 is located at the initial position and senses the sensing projection 80D in a fixed state wherein the CCD unit 27 is placed at the fixed position and the key section 80C is engaged with the engagement projection 27G. As a result, the single position sensor 41 can sense the initial position and the fixed state of the CCD unit 27.
