摘要： A liquid developed electrophotocopier wherein liquid carrier dispersant transferred to a copy sheet concomitantly with the developed image is catalytically oxidized to provide harmless gaseous oxidation products at temperatures sufficiently elevated to vaporize transferred carrier and to dry and fix the transferred image. The catalytic fixer-dryer is brought rapidly to operating temperature by injecting an atomized spray of carrier liquid. The carrier liquid has a low auto-oxidation temperature; and the fixer-dryer is operated above such temperature to ensure complete oxidation of carrier vapors even though the catalyst may have been largely rendered inactive.

摘要： PURPOSE:To reduce cooling load and, then, to miniaturize a device by providing a by-pass linking a path for reflux and an introducing path and by making gas by- pass in case when a transfer paper is not yet conveyed in a fixing an drying part. CONSTITUTION:In case when a transfer paper (p) is conveyed in a housing 5, hinged valves 88, 89 are turned to solid positions through a detection output of a sensor S1 for detecting a front end of paper, and circulating gas which is made high temperature in a heat exchanger 83 and is flowed into the housing 5 through an inlet 5a for air, then a treatment for fixing and drying is performed by contacting this air with the paper (p). In case when the paper (p) undergone the fixing and drying treatment is ejected from the housing 5, the valves 88, 89 are turned to broken lined positions through a detection output of a sensor S2 for detecting a rear end of paper. As a result, the circulating movement of the gas returning from the housing 5 into the housing 5 by way of the heat exchanger 83, a cooler 84, a suction fun 82 and the heat exchanger 83 is made to stop, then, the gas which is in a path joining from the suction fun 82 to the cooler 84 by way of a by-pass 87 only is circulating.
