    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to sufficiently dispersing a pigment even in a resin having high flowability such as polypropylene, by providing a first kneading mechanism for kneading the pigment while imparting shearing action to the resin and a second kneading mechanism having different mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A sleeve 6 constituting a first kneading mechanism is inlaid with a small diameter part 4 and inflow grooves and outflow grooves 8 are alternately formed to the outer periphery of the sleeve 6 through lands 9. A second kneading mechanism 15 is provided in a casing 1 and constituted by connecting unit kneading parts 16 through intermediate chambers 17 while passages 19 each having a twisted blade 18 are provided in the kneading parts 16 and shifted 90 deg. in positions from the passages of the adjacent kneading parts 16. In the above mentioned first kneading mechanism, a resin in a molten state and a pigment passes a narrow gaps when transferred from the inflow grooves 7 and the outflow grooves 8 and the pigment is kneaded with the resin while shearing action is imparted to the resin. In the next step, the resin and the pigment kneaded to a certain degree is kneaded by a second kneading mechanism different from the first kneading mechanism and, therefore, the pigment can be sufficiently dispersed even in a resin having high flowability and a molded article having no color irregularity is obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To mold a product with marbly pattern by raising the temperature of the heating region of a torpedo above that of the screw head portion in molding a raw material charged into a heating cylinder through a torpedo. CONSTITUTION:A resin raw material charged from a hopper 21 is preheated by heaters 23 and 24, fed forward by the rotation of a screw 26, and accumulated by as much as a given amount in a space 27. The resin raw material so accumulate is pushed by the screw 26 and then injected from a nozzle 29 through a torpedo 28. Since the temperature of the torpedo 28 is raised to 50-80 deg.C higher than the screw 26 portion by being heated by a heating cylinder covering the torpedo, the raw material is easily melted and molded into a molding with marbly pattern without the joining and crossing of the resin flow passing through the torpedo.

    • PURPOSE:To easily injection mold a marble-patterned molded article while ensuring that the pattern can be easily changed, by a method wherein resins of different colors melted by heating are mixed with each other by a torpedo consisting of spiral vanes. CONSTITUTION:The resins of different colors which are melted separately by heating cylinders 2, 3 respectively are fed to a nozzle 8 through passages 6, 7, then the resins are mixed with each other to an appropriate degree by the torpedo 11 provided in the nozzle 8, and the mixed resin is injected into a predetermined mold. The torpedo 11 consists of left spiral vanes 9 and right spiral vanes 10 both of which are alternately connected in a crossing manner, and it is rotatably fitted in the nozzle 8. The density of the marble pattern can be controlled by regulating the number of the crossing positions of the vanes 9, 10. Also, the amount of one of the resin materials can be made larger than that of the other by changing the injection speed for the resin materials in the two cylinders. The method and apparatus is particularly suitable for producing large-size molded articles.
