    • PURPOSE:To obtain a halogen lamp whose luminous efficiency is improved collectively together with the effect of the bulb form, by regulating the bulb form and the filament lead length in a short form, so as to suppress the energy loss at the lead at the minimum value. CONSTITUTION:In a lamp 1, pressure seals 3 by the pinch sealing are formed at both ends of a spherical bulb 2 made of a quartz glass, and Mo metal foil conductors are sealed to the pressure seals 3. Leads 5 extended from a filament of a short W coil provided at the center position of the bulb are connected to the foils 4 making the axes of the bulb 2 and the coil coincident. And external lead-in wires 7 are connected to the foils 4. The distance between the filament coil and the bulb sealing parts is made in a specific short value. In the bulb 2, a minute amount of xenon gas and bromide with a specific pressure are sealed. On the outer surface of the bulb 2, TiO and SiO2 are laminated alternatively and an infrared-ray reflected visible ray transmitting film is sputtered. By such a constitution, a halogen lamp with improved luminous efficiency can be obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent molybdenum foil from being oxidized at the formation of a light interference multilayered film and prevent a pinch seal portion from being cracked by including in the step of preparation for the process of burning of the light interference multilayered film the process of applying frit of low melting point to the end portion of an external lead bar projecting from the pinch seal portion. CONSTITUTION:In the step of preparation for the process of burning a light interference multilayered film, low melting-point frit whose melting point is 300 to 500 deg.C or so and whose coefficient of thermal expansion is close to that of molybdenum is formed into a paste containing binders and is applied to the end portion of an external lead bar 3 projecting from a pinch seal portion 11. Then the frit 5 is melted during the process of burning of the light interference multilayered film and is allowed to flow into a space 12 between the external lead bar 3 and quartz glass and is vitrified to block the space 12. Molybdenum foil 2 is thereby prevented from being exposed to oxygen in air so as to prevent oxidation of the light interference multilayered film during its burning process and also prevent cracking of the pinch seal portion 11.
