    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to effectively hold a crew by making up a looseness removing mechanism out of a drive means actuated in response to deceleration detecting signals, and of an engaging member rotating a reel in the direction in which the looseness of a seat belt is removed. CONSTITUTION:At the time of specified extra-ordinarily rapid deceleration such as the collision of a car and the like, a drive means 10 is actuated in response to signals from a deceleration detecting means 11, and a wire rope 9 is rapidly pulled out to the direction A by the specified magnitude of force so that location pins 8a through 8d are thereby broken. This therefore permits paired pawl gears 6 and 7 to be moved to a gear 5 so that the pawls of the pawl gears 6 and 7 are meshed with the pawl of the gear 5 so as to be engaged. By this constitution, the pawls of the pawl gears 6 and 7 are quickly and positively meshed with the pawl of the gear 5, and a pre-tensioner can thereby be positively operated. In this case, a crew can therefore be firmly held by a seat belt 2 wherein the effect of constraint is more excellently exhibited.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a slipperiness between a webbing and a slide contacting member and maintain them for a long time, and to obtain an excellent storing property, an excellent pulling out property, and an excellent handleability. SOLUTION: A webbing 2 for a seat belt is composed of a webbing base cloth 2a and a surface treating layer 9. The surface treating layer 9 is formed by coating a surface treating agent 13, made by mixing a photocatalyst dispersing undiluted solution 11 including TiO2 and binder 12 made from one of a fluorine, a glass, and a silicon materials, on the webbing base cloth 2a. By an oxidative decomposition action of the TiO2 which is a photocatalyst in the surface treating agent 13, a dirt matter of organic substances is prevented to adhere to the surface of the surface treating layer 9 on one surface side of the webbing 2, and the dirt matter adhering to the surface is discomposed and eliminated by the TiO2, thereby cleaning the surface of the surface treating layer 9.
