SOLUTION: An optical part 19 connected to a light source 1 and plural pieces of measuring side optical fibers 7 fitted in V-grooves of a fiber array 5 for measuring an interval are surface-matched by a surface-matching mechanism 39, and a light quantity transmitted via the optical part 19 and one piece of the measuring side optical fiber 7 is measured by a light quantity measuring device 83, and positioning is carried out so that the received light quantity becomes a maximum. After measuring the coordinates at this time by a high resolution measuring means 73, positionings of the measuring side optical fibers 7 are sequentially made to measure the coordinates in the similar procedure, and a control device 87 measures the intervals of the optical fibers 7 of the fiber array 5 from the coordinates of each measuring side optical fiber 7.

SOLUTION: Plural blocks are manufactured which are divided at a position corresponding to the bottom line 9 of a V groove 7 of fixing an optical fiber, the abutting face 17 of these blocks is machined flat; then, an evacuating hole 13 is machined on the abutting face 17 so as to reach one side of the abutting face 17, this one side is chamfered obliquely to form a chamfered part; and the blocks 3 are joined to each other in the manner that the adjacent chamfered parts of the blocks 3A, 3B form a V groove 7. The dimension and the angle of the V groove 7 are determined by the dimension and the angle of the chamfered part. The dimension of the evacuating hole 13 is also determined by that of the vacuum groove 31.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism for aligning surfaces to be joined between optical parts, capable of surface alignment highly precisely without damaging the optical parts by properly measuring a pressurizing force between the optical parts even if the optical axis is perpendicular. SOLUTION: In the case of joining optical parts 23, 29, one part 23 is set on a holding axis 9, which is installed on the spherical seat 7 floating freely movably in all directions by a working fluid in a space 5 inside a housing. Therefore, by pressing the face 25 to be joined of one optical part 23 against the face 27 to be joined of the other optical part 29 which is fixed, the two faces 25, 27 are parallelly aligned. In this case, the one optical part 23 moves on the holding axis 9, an elastic holding mechanism 13 generates a restoring force in response to the quantity of this movement. Hence, even if the spherical seat 7 is moved in the direction of separating the faces 25, 27 and fixed by pressing against the space inside the housing 3, the one optical part 23 moves to the other optical part 29 by the restoring force, thereby the joined faces are kept unseparable from each other.

A position of the collet 1 in the axial direction is fixed by a fixing pin 4. A taper part 3a is formed on an inner peripheral part in the neighborhood of the head end on the tapered sleeve 3. A rear end part of the tapered sleeve 3 is connected to a first piston 5. When the first piston 5 is made free, the tapered sleeve 3 is pushed out forward by force of a compression coil spring 8, an inside diameter of the head end of the collet 1 is contracted and the work 10 is clamped.
