    • PURPOSE:To suppress the temp. drop of a molten iron and to regulate the molten iron flow to be discharged by projecting and forming a gill-shaped molten iron outflow port facing upward to the top end of a molten iron ladle body and making the top edge of the outflow port flush with the top edge of the ladle. CONSTITUTION:The bill-shaped molten iron outflow port 12 projecting outward is formed to the top end of the molten iron ladle body 11 and is so formed that the top edge of the outflow port 12 is made flush with the top edge of the ladle body 11. A holding cap 15 closes the aperture of the ladle body 11 thoroughly to suppress the temp. drop by the heat radiation of the molten iron 13 when the cap 15 is put on the ladle body 11 after the molten iron 13 from a blast furnace is poured into said body. Since the outflow port 12 is formed to the bill shape, the pouring flow of the molten iron 13 from a pouring port 12 is regulated, by which the splashing of the molten iron 13 is prevented and the removal of slag 14 is made easy.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of converter slag formed and the amount of slag discarded by dephosphorizing molten pig iron discharged from a blast furnace, refining the dephosphorized molten pig iron by blowing in a converter and charging formed slag into the blast furnace so as to utilize the slag for smelting in the furnace. CONSTITUTION:Iron ore is smelted in a blast furnace 1 to manufacture molten pig iron and this molten pig iron is charged into a molten pig iron pot 4 through the casting hearth 2 of the furnace 1. At this time, a dephosphorizing agent 3 is added to the molten pig iron on the hearth 2 to dephosphorize the molten pig iron. The dephosphorized molten pig iron is charged into a converter 5 and refined by blowing with less slag and formed slag is returned to the furnace 1. Thus, the amount of slag discarded is reduced and a discarding place is easily ensured.

CONSTITUTION:Changing-over of a bottom blowing nozzle in a converter lined with permanent brick layer 14 and work brick layer 16, is executed. Then a boring brick 30 composed of a prescribed length of integrally shaped refractory, which extends to more inside of the converter than the position in the work brick layer 16 corresponding to a possible erosive part of the refractory layer in the through-hole forming part at the tip part thereof and extends to a permanent brick layer 14 side at the back end part along penetrating direction in the through-hole boring part, is preset in the refractory layer preceding to use the tip using nozzle. Beforehand, a guide hole 34 is bored into the boring brick 30 and a soft plugging brick is plugged into there. By this method, a possible occurrence of brick joints at the surrounding port of a pipe for fresh nozzle in the inside of or in the vicinity of the intrafurnace atmosphere can be eliminated.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce manganese shifted into slag under oxide state with reducing agent and to effectively make component in molten steel of the manganese by charging pretreated molten iron, adding manganese ore or manganese oxide and the reducing agent into molten iron and blowing. CONSTITUTION:The manganese ore, etc., as manganese source and the reducing agent of ferro-silicon, etc., are added into the pretreating molten iron charged in a converter body 1. Then, a lance 3 is inserted from furnace opening part 2 of the converter body 1 and oxygen gas is blown from tip part of the lance 3 to execute the oxygen blowing. During blowing operation, by blowing argon gas into the converter body 1 from gas blowing holes 4 arranged at the bottom part, molten steel 5 is stirred. In this case, as dephosphorizing agent is not needed, the slag 6 quantity is a little in the body 1 and the manganese quantity shifting from the slag is relatively a little. Therefore, by reducing the manganese content existing as MnO in the slag with the reducing agent, it can be made to the component in the molten steel.

    • PURPOSE:To easily control the end of refining of molten steel by blowing at a low cost by measuring the concns. of carbon and oxygen in the molten steel in a converter during refining and by calculating the concns. of carbon and phosphorus in the molten steel from the concns. of carbon and oxygen in converter gas. CONSTITUTION:Slag is added to molten steel in a converter 12 in a refining equipment 10 and oxygen is blown from a main lance 14 to refine the molten steel. In this refining method, a sublance is immersed only once in the molten steel during refining and the concns. of carbon and oxygen in the molten steel, the temp. of the molten steel, etc., are measured. The concns. of carbon and oxygen in converter gas and the flow rate of the gas are then continuously measured with a waste gas analyzer 22 fitted to a flue 20 connected to a hood 18 placed over the upper opening 16 of the converter 12 and a gas flowmeter 24 fitted to the orifice 26 of the flue 20. The concns. of carbon and phosphorus in the molten steel are calculated from the measured values. At the time when the concns. of carbon and phosphorus attain prescribed values, the refining is stopped.

    • PURPOSE:To heat molten iron while restraining foaming and to incorporating silicon into the molten metal as a component by supplying each of oxidizing silicon source, Ca-containing material and oxygen in the molten iron after executing pretreatment. CONSTITUTION:Pretreatment containing each process of desiliconization, desulfurization and dephosphorization on the casting floor is executed to the molten iron tapped from a blast furnace, to lower content of the impurities in the molten iron. Next, ferrosilicon is supplied on the molten iron 23 surface after adjusting carbon content, and the lime, etc., is injected into the molten iron 23 from a lance 41 through nitrogen gas and the oxygen gas is blown from a lance 42. By this method, a part of silicon is the additive 61 composing of the silicon source and Ca source on the molten iron 23 surface is oxidized and generated silicon oxide is shifted into the slag 62 and the molten iron 23 is heated by oxidizing heat and also the nonoxidized silicon is contained into the component in the molten iron 23. Then, by making >=0.5 of basicity of the additive 61, the slag foaming is restrained into good condition. Next, by casting after adding Mg into the molten iron 23, the cast iron having excellent strength and ductility is produced.
