SOLUTION: In the capacitor uninterruptible power supply apparatus, a capacitor electricity storage device 1 which comprises a plurality of capacitors C and a plurality of parallel monitors 9, each of which is connected in parallel with each capacitor to detect and control the charge voltage and current, is connected to an input power supply and a load so that the connection state can be switched via charge and discharge control means 2, 3, 5 to execute charging and discharging. This apparatus is provided with diagnostic means 7, 8, which detect the voltage and output current of the capacitor electricity storage device 1, to find out a residual capacity and consumped power and then predicte the operating time of the device 1 and determines whether the capacitors have deteriorated. By predicting the backup operable time, based on the residual capacity and the average consumped power for a prescribed period of time and determining the deterioration of the capacitors from the loutering of the electrostatic capacity, accurate diagnostic information can be provided easily.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform the initialization in a period excluding the charge and discharge cycle during ordinary use, without providing a special initialization cycle. SOLUTION: This capacitor storage device, where a plurality of capacitors are connected in series, is equipped with a dispersion judging means which judges the dispersion of charge between each capacitor and the next by the full charge voltage at the time of any of the capacitors having reached the full charge by charge; an operation judging means which judges the charge and discharge operation state to each capacitor whether it is a large current of charge and discharge state or not, or whether the charge level is within a certain tolerable range or not; a charge means for initialization which has a parallel monitor for bypassing the charge current with first set voltage to each capacitor; and a voltage detection means for detecting the second set voltage for judging the finish of the initialization higher than the first set voltage. The device performs the charge for initialization to each capacitor, based on the judgment of the charge dispersion and charge and discharge operation state, and performs initialization without being provided with a special initializing cycle.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accomplish charged level control and anomaly detection appropriate to the service conditions. SOLUTION: In a capacitor power storage system, the capacitor C thereof is connected with a parallel monitor for monitoring the charging voltage and equalizing charged levels. The capacitor power storage system is provided with charging control means 4 and 11 that vary the full charged voltage, depending on the voltage monitor signal from the parallel monitor and the service condition and varies the full charged voltage, depending on the service environment. The parallel monitor includes a comparator 12 for detecting the voltage at a set initialization level and the bypass circuit T of the capacitor, which bypass circuit uses as control input the output of the comparator. The charging control means 4 and 11 keep the control input on for a certain period of time, if the initialization level is detected at any of a plurality of capacitors, sets a full charged voltage based on the overall voltage, after the lapse of the certain period of time, and controls the full charged voltage according to the service condition, to increase the working voltage to prevent reduction in the capacitance at midwinter or in a cold district and decrease the full charged voltage to prevent deterioration in hot district.
