    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the dispersion of core loss value and to improve measuring accuracy, at the time of measuring the size of primarily recrystallized grains based on core loss value measured by applying a magnetic field to a silicon steel sheet, by removing a nitrided layer on the surface of the steel sheet and measuring the core loss value. SOLUTION: Before the start of secondary recrystallization in final-finish annealing after hot rolling, as to the measurement of core loss value in a primarily recrystallized sheet subjected to nitriding treatment, the surface layer to 20μm from the surface of the steel sheet is removed by using a means such as grinding. This is because that the nitrogen content in the sheet width direction of the nitrided steel sheet varies to the average nitrogen content in the whole body, also, the sheet thickness distribution of the nitrogen content is not similar in the sheet width direction, the nitrogen content in the surface layer varies, and this difference causes the dispersion of the measured value of core loss, so the surface layer of the steel sheet in which nitriding variation is present is removed. Moreover, this measuring method is applicable to any parameter measurement related to secondary recrystallizing phenomenohs such as the average grain size, the ratio of coarsened grains and the distribution of the grain size.

    • PURPOSE:To quantitatively, quickly and conveniently measure magnetic strain all over the length of a magnetic steel plate by applying an alternating magnetic field to the magnetic steel plate during running and injecting a light flux perpendicular to the direction of applying a magnetic field. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic flux is applied from an exciting coil 1 through a core 2 to a sample to be measured. The sample is held down at both ends by a pinch roll 3, prohibited from up-and-down vibration and exposed to laser light irradiated with a laser head 4 fixed upward. The magnetic strain of raw material is previously measured and the amplitude of a steel plate to the raw material is then measured with a measuring instrument. In this case, mechanical measuring conditions such as the tension of the steel plate, a distance between terminals and the thickness of the steel plate are defined to measure magnetic strain as the vibration amplitude of the steel plate. Continuous measurements are made at a constant flux density and a constant steel plate running speed so as to measure the distribution of magnetic strain in the longitudinal direction.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain grain oriented silicon steel sheet where the space factor is high, and the core loss is extremely low and which has low magnetstriction and contains super-high silicon by providing grooves which are approximately normal to the rolling direction at periodic intervals in the steel sheet containing the specified silicon. CONSTITUTION:Grooves are provided at periodic intervals in the direction which is normal or inclined by max. 20 deg. from the normal direction relative to the rolling direction to the steel sheet which contains by weight, 4.0-8.0% Si and inevitable impurities, and the balance substantial impurities. These grooves can be formed by etching or the like, and it is preferable to set the width to be 50mum-1mm, the depth to be 10mum or over, and the interval to be 2-100mm. The insulting film is provided to the steel sheet surface as required. These grooves improve the core loss characteristic by giving the refined magnetic domain effect. This allows the grain oriented silicon steel plate containing super-high silicon and having high space factor, low core loss and low magnetostriction to be obtained.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a non-oriented silicon steel sheet with which the deterioration of pickling property can be restrained. SOLUTION: The method for producing the non-oriented silicon steel sheet includes: a process for continuously annealing a hot-rolled plate composed, by mass, of ≤0.006% C, 0.3-5% Cr, 1-4% Si, 0.4-3% Al, ≤1.5% Mn, ≤0.003% S, ≤0.003% N and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities; a process for pickling the annealed hot-rolled plate; a process for making a cold-rolled sheet by cold-rolling the pickled hot-rolled plate; and a process for recrystallize-annealing the cold-rolled sheet. In the process for annealing the hot-rolled plate, the annealing temperature is controlled to be 900-1,150°C, the atmosphere is controlled to be mainly N 2 , the dew point is controlled to be ≤50°C and the O 2 content is controlled to be ≤1 vol.%.
