    • PURPOSE:To prevent the malfunction with a simple operation, by providing a preset mechanism which can set a prescribed set speed independently of the current running speed and presetting preliminarily a desired set speed. CONSTITUTION:The output of a preset volume 26 is supplied to a capacitor 32 for storage of the vehicle speed through an analog switch 72, and a divided voltage corresponding to the resistance value of the volume 26 is stored in the capacitor 32. For the purpose of storing a preset vehicle speed in the capacitor 32, the signal from a preset switch 18 is supplied to the switch 72. One end of the preset switch 18 is grounded, and the other end is connected to not only the power source side through a resistance 74 but also the switch 72 through an inverter 76. Only when the switch 18 is turned on once and is turned on again within a prescribed time, a turning-on control signal is outputted from an AND gate 78 to the switch 72, and a preset vehicle speed value determined by the volume 26 is stored in the capacitor 32.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent thermal deterioration of a vehicle height sensor and to improve reliability by shutting off at least a current supply circuit for light emitting elements except in the stage of detecting the relative displacement on the top and bottom side of the spring of a vehicle thereby decreasing the self heating value of the vehicle height sensor. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 66 is first initialized and whether the current conducting period for passing current to a power source line 100 is 4 or not is decided. If the result of decision is yes, both transistors 58, 60 are turned on by the command outputted from an input buffer circuit 64 to pass the current to the line 100. Whether the first time 10 of the current conducting time 50 for a vehicle height sensor 10 elapses or not is decided and if the result of the decision is yes, signals e2-e5 from signal lines 102, 104, 106, 108 are taken in and the relative displacement on the top and bottom side of the spring of the vehicle is calculated. The current conduction to the line 100 is then stopped and the process for adjusting the vehicle height according to the relative displacement calculated by the microcomputer 66 is accomplished.

    • PURPOSE:To ensure control for the optimum speed of a car based on the distance between cars even the car is traveling at a curve, by delivering a holding signal through a curve detecting circuit as soon as the car reached the curve and holding the speed of the car when it reaches the curve. CONSTITUTION:An automatic speed controller contains a constant speed traveling device which sets a desired present speed of a car and a controller for distance between cars which controls the optimum distance between cars and the relative speed with a preceding car by means of a Doppler radar. When a car reaches a curve, the holding signal supplied from a curve detecting circuit 44 is applied to a holding circuit 38. In this case, if the Doppler beam gets out of the preceding car 32 and the detection is impossible for the optimum car speed signal, the other comparing signal of a comparator 42 is switched to an optimum car speed signal from the so far set car speed signal by a switching circuit 13. Then the comparator 42 selects either lower one of the speed of the car when reaching the curve held in the circuit 38 and the optimum car speed signal and supplies it to a throttle controlling circuit 20 in the form of a car speed controlling signal.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the operability of a constant-speed running device, by changing a set value when a brake operation is performed in the constant-speed running set state and setting again the constant-speed running action when the brake is released. CONSTITUTION:A brake set switch 62 is added to a constant-speed running releasing circuit, and the switch 62 has one end connected to an OR gate 44 in parallel with a coast switch 16 through an inverter 64 and has the other end connected to the Q terminal of an FF48 through an inverter 66. When the constant-speed running action is set by an accelerator switch 14 or the switch 16, the switch 62 functions similarly to the switch 16. Consequently, when a brake operation is performed, the switch 62 is operated, and a capacitor 24 for storage changes the set value through an analog switch 34, and the set value is supplied to a comparator 26 when the switch 62 is turned off after the completion of the brake operation, and the constant-speed running action is set again with the new set value.
