    • PURPOSE:To discriminate a large number of trays in a simple structure by arranging plural magnets on a base of a carrying tray in different polarity, and reading the polarity of the magnets while rotating the tray. CONSTITUTION:When a tray 1 holding up a package P is transferred onto a belt conveyor 14 and is stopped in a position of a tray discriminating device 15, an ascending and descending frame 20 is raised by a cylinder 19, and a rotary receiving tool 21 is fitted inside of a peg 3 of the tray 1, and parts the tray 1 upward from a belt 18. Next, the tray 1 is rotated by the rotary receiving tool 21, and a feeler 23 detects a standard magnet 11 on a base 2, and a feeler 24 reads polarity of a circumferential directional discriminating magnet 12 from the standard. In this case, since the magnet 12 has two kinds of polarity of N and S, when (n) pieces are arranged in a circumferential direction in different polarity, they come to be discriminated by the number of 2 . Since the tray 1 is discriminated from below, unlike when it is discriminated from above, it can be discriminated easily without being hindered by the package P and the like.
