    • PURPOSE:To eliminate imperfect fluidized state near a charging port of solid by providing a means for separating coarse particles from fine particles and a means for supplying the coarse particles separated and the fine particles individually in a fluidized bed. CONSTITUTION:Solid particles are supplied to a sieve 8 from a hopper 5 of material to be treated, and separated to under-size particles which are easily fluidized in the fluidized bed and over-size particles the sizes of which are about the sizes or larger than that of equivalent diameter of minimum fluidization velocity of the fluidized bed. The under-size particles are supplied through a fine particle supply chute 9 of material to be treated, and the over- size particles are supplied through a coarse particle supply chute 10 of material to be treated individually into the fluidized bed. In this case, when the width of said coarse particle supply chute 10 is made larger and the particles are easily scattered in the fluidized bed, the fluidization of the coarse particles is more effectively promoted.

    • PURPOSE: To increase the efficiency of recovery of sensible heat of coke, by taking out inert gas divided in two types; high-temperature gas being used for recovery of heat in a waste heat boiler and moderate-temperature gas being circulated to a dry quenching machine after it has been utilized for preheating of coal.
      CONSTITUTION: Red hot coke 2 is fed into a grate type dry quenching machine 1, where it is heat exchanged with low-temperature inert gas, quenched and discharged as cold coke 3. Inert gas passing through an inert gas path in the quenching machine 1 divided into two channels in the direction of the progress of the grate by a partition pannel for sealing 8, it taken out in two types, i.e. high-temperature gas 9, 10 and moderate-temperature gas 11, 12. The high-temperature gas is used for generation of steam in a waste heat boiler 15, cooled and recycled to the quenching machine 1 via a dust remover 16. The moderate- temperature gas is used for drying of coal in a fluid bed coal drier 4, subjected to dust removal in a gas/liquid contact machine 7 and dehumidified for conditioning and cycled for reuse.
