    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively and economically manufacture large boxes to be sunk and sink them in water by manufacturing the RC structure type sunk boxes with a specified length, on a semi-submerged type barge, then performing the fitting-out thereto, thereafter launching the barge for putting the boxes in water, and floating them again. SOLUTION: A semi-submerged type barge 1 equipped with a plurality of water tank chambers 1S therein and balast tanks 3, 3 on both right and left sides 1e thereof is moored to a shore wall near a site for sinking, and sunk box production equipment is installed therein. On a deck of the barge 1 sand is layed, while controlling the inclination of the barge 1 by charging water to the chambers 1S and tank 3 and discharging water therefrom, blocks 2a of RC structure type sunk boxes 2 are connected to have a length of 100 m or more toward the front part 1f and the rear part 1b. After the finished sunk boxes are applied with specified fitting-out, the production equipment of the barge 1 is removed, and the barge 1 is moved to a water region of a specified depth. Then, the tanks 3 are charged with water for bringing the barge 1 into a semi-submerged condition, and the sunk boxes 2 are moved from the front part 1f and put in water so that they are pulled to the site for sinking them. The water in the tanks 3 are then discharged to float the barge 1 on water.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase work efficiency by exploding an explosive provided in bottom parts of a plurality of holes which are drilled up to the vicinity of a depth at which a pneumatic caisson is to be sunk to generate a crack and digging the ground manually or using a machine in a work room in a bottom part of the caisson. SOLUTION: First, a plurality of holes 16 which extend from a surface 14 of the ground to the inside of a rock-bed 10 are drilled. After generating a crack in the rock-bed 10, the ground is digged manually or by using a machine in a work room 20, and sand and earth which are digged up are removed to sink a caisson 12 down to a depth at which it is to be sunk in the ground. The supply of pressurizing air in the work room 20 and the removal of the sand and earth which are digged up are done through a pipe and a shaft. After drilling a predetermined number of holes 16, an explosive 26 is charged into a bottom part to explode it continuously or simultaneously to generate many cracks in the rock-bed 10. A pipe made of vinyl chloride may be inserted into each hole 16 to prevent a washout of a hole wall. Consequently, it is possible to make pressure in the caisson 12 equal to atmospheric pressure when the caisson 12 is sunk so as to improve work efficiency.
