    • PURPOSE:To enable easy, safe, and efficient sample calibration with high accuracy by mounting a calibration sample plate on a sample mount plate at a specific position and measuring it with good reproducibility in the same state with a thick plate to be rolled. CONSTITUTION:The thick plate to be rolled and conveyed in the gap between front and rear conveyor rollers 2A and 2B arrayed nearby a rolling machine in irradiated with radiation from a radiation source container 8 and an inspection device above it detect the thickness of the thick plate from the quantity of radiation. The calibrating device 10 for the thickness gauge consists of the sample plate 11, the sample mount substrate 12, and a positioning columns 13. Then the two columns 13 are inserted into the container 8 from above and fixed in a vertically upward direction and the substrate 12 is united thereupon by adjusting the height. This substrate 12 is suspended by the rollers 2A and 2B, the sample plate 11 of prescribed thickness is mounted at the irradiation position of the radiation, and the distance from the container 8 is equalized to the thick plate to be rolled. This device 10 is fixed with good reproducibility and easy to disassemble, carry, and handle.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance shape measuring accuracy without being affected by the lowering in the temp. of the end part of a material to be rolled, by detecting the position of the end surface of the material to be rolled without detecting the emitted beam from the material to be rolled and detecting the emitted beam from the material to be rolled on the basis of the end surface position detection signal to measure the shape of the material to be rolled and correcting the shape measured value obtained. CONSTITUTION:In measuring the plane shape of a material 2 to be rolled subjected to hot rolling, a shape measuring process 4 for detecting the emitted beam from the material 2 to be rolled to measure the shape of said material, an end surface position detecting process 20 for detecting the end surface of the material 2 to be rolled without using the emitted beam from the material 2 to be rolled and a correction process 27 for correcting the measured value in the shape measuring process 4 on the basis of the end surface position detection signal from the end surface position detecting process 20 are provided. The end surface position detecting process 20 is performed by detecting the blocking of laser slit beam by the end part of the material to be rolled. By this constitution, the plane shape of the material 2 to be rolled during rolling can be measured accurately without receiving the effect of the lowering in the temp. of the end part of the material 2 to be rolled and can be determined accurately.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to accurately obtain a measured value, by providing a detector for detecting radiation intensity between frame pieces through a high frequency attenuation type buffer apparatus. CONSTITUTION:A detector 12 is held by a buffer apparatus 13. The buffer apparatus 13 consists of vibration proof rubber 13a, a damper 13b and a spring 13c and vibration of several 100Hz is absorbed by the vibration proof rubber 13a and the vibration of a rolling machine is suppressed within a short time by the damper 13b and the spring 13c has function extremely reducing the transmission of vibration impact. Because the buffer apparatus 13 fixes the detector 12 at three points or more, said apparatus 13 can prevent not only the absorption of vibration impact in vertical and horizontal directions generated in the rolling machine but also the rotary motion of a radiation transmission type thickness meter. Therefore, even if the radiation transmission type thickness meter is arranged to the rolling machine, the accurate measurement of the thickness of a plate can be performed without receiving the effect due to vibration and impact.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve correctness of inspection of the surface of a flexible container by a method wherein a force is applied to the flexible container so that the surface to be inspected of the flexible container becomes flat, and inspection is made for the surface of the container after image information about the flattened surface to be inspected is obtained. SOLUTION: A plurality of flexible containers (hereinafter referred just as container) 10 to be inspected are arranged in a row at specified intervals and moved in the same derection with a belt conveyor 20, and when moved to a specified position on an inspection table 200, the surface to be inspected of the container 10 is irradiated with illuminators 40. Furthermore, a pair of clamping members 210 and 220 are operated by detection signals indicating arrival of the container, and the container 10 is clamped from both sides including the one having a mouth 12 for enclosing contents and the other that is opposite thereto. Then, tension applying devices 230 and 240 are operated and with a tension applied to the container 10, the surface to be inspected of the container 10 is flanttened. In this state image information of the surface to be inspected of the container is taken with an image information processing device through a camera 50, and dirtiness at the surface to be inspected is inspected, based on the image information, and the results of inspection are shown on a display device.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a shape measuring device of a shape steel capable of accurately measuring the shape and size of a shape steel without being affected by the tilt of a flange and the curvature of a web. CONSTITUTION:U-shaped support frames 24R, 24L are arranged to individually cover the right and left halves of a rolled material such as an H-shape steel movably in the right and left directions, and a two-dimensional laser range finder 31 radiating a slit laser beam to the flange outer face in the width direction to measure the distance is arranged at the center section of the vertical lever section 27 of the support frames 24R, 24L. The distance data detected by the laser range finders are arithmetically processed by an arithmetic processor, the cross sectional shape data of the rolled material are obtained, and the size data of the prescribed measurement items are calculated from the cross sectional shape data.
