Consequently, the oxide scale generated on the surface of the steel S consists essentially of high-melting-point Fe2O3 and Fe3O4 in place of the low-melting-point FeO formed in the conventional method, pickup is not caused on the surface of the hearth roll 6, and the surface of the steel S to be annealed is not scratched due to pickup.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve thermal efficiency in continuous annealing by applying a colored slurry formed in a pickling section to a steel strip to carry out continu ous annealing and then subjecting the above steel strip to pickling so as to remove the coated material completely. CONSTITUTION:A colored slurry formed in a pickling section is supplied to a tank 13 through a pipe 14, and also water or mineral oil for dilution is sup plied through a pipe 15. The diluted colored slurry is passed through a pipe 18 by means of a pump 17 and sprayed through nozzle headers 19 on a steel strip S to apply the above slurry to this steel strip S. Further, the above applica tion may be carried out by a roll coating method or a dipping method. Succes sively, the steel strip S is fed to a continuous annealing furnace to undergo continuous annealing and pickling. By this method, continuous annealing velocity can be increased by about 20%.

In the expression, r: distance between window and condensing lens, f, f': focal point of condensing lens of the times of the presence or absence of hot lens effect.

CONSTITUTION:The rear end part of the preceding strip of a metallic strip 1 and the front end part of the succeeding strip are sheared by the upper blade 11 and the lower blade 12 of a double cut shear at the same time. A butt groove is formed on a shear surface to perform laser welding. The up cut shear is used to fix the upper blade 11 and to push up the lower blade 12as this double cut shear. The scrap 4 generated by the shear on the receiving base 12 is sucked by a treating device 13. By this method, laser beam welding free from an undercut can be performed.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent a defective penetration bead and the generation of a burn through even in the case of the material to be welded having different thicknesses and of a laser bean coming out of a weld line with the minimum equipment by weaving a beam focus by a butt line in a laser butt welding method. CONSTITUTION:Each end part of the preceding steel strip 2 and succeeding steelstrip 3 is abutted each other a laser beam 4 is projected on the butt groove thereof, each end part is melted and a but welding is performed. The laser beam 4 is emitted from a laser oscillator 5a, reflected by a reflection mirror 5, condensed by a lens 6 and the focus 4a is abutted to the butt groove. In this case, the laser beam 4, especially the focus 4a is subjected to a weaving on the butt groove and travelled in the plate width direction to perform the welding. The back face of the mirror 5 is attracted alternately by turning ON or OFF electromagnets 7, 8 alternately, for instance, and the weaving is performed by rotating the mirror centering around its center 5'. With this method, a large-sized and complicated equipment is made unnecessary for cutting, butt, etc.

In order to prevent the scratch, the peripheral speed of the rolls 1 is made intermittently different from the conveyance speed of the strip 6 in due order by engaging and disengaging a clutch 3 to produce temporary sliding action between the surface of the strip 6 and the peripheral surfaces of the rolls 1. The foreign matter 7 such as oxide scale is dropped by the sliding action before it grows.
