    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake device for an electric motor vehicle by which a braking force generated by a regenerative braking device is not prevented from being limited, even if batteries are in a fully charged state.SOLUTION: A resistor associated with the regenerative braking device is provided. When electric power to be generated exceeds the electric power consumed by charging of batteries or the like, a relay for connecting the resistor thereto is opened or closed by a comparison between a signal detecting a tread force for a brake pedal, and an energizing electric current by charging of the batteries or the like, or energization through the resistor is controlled by increasing or decreasing the duty ratio of a chopper device for connecting the resistor thereto. Moreover, since energization through the resistor accompanies large heat generation, part of the electric power generated by the regenerative braking device is used to cool the resistor and protect the equipment.
