    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel optical recording medium wherein recording density which has limitation in a conventional recording medium is enhanced and thermal stability as an issue in PHB (photochemical hole burning) recording is avoided and to provide an optical recording method. SOLUTION: Honeycomb holes 3 are formed on a substrate 2 in a self-organization way and the respective honeycomb holes are impartially color-coded with various colored particles. The recording density of optical recording which has the limitation by a laser spot size depending on the wavelength of light and the numerical aperture of a lens is enhanced and multiplex recording is made possible by finely color-coded coating one spot using plural kinds of organic coloring matters.
