      SOLUTION: The saddle-riding type electric vehicle 1 includes a secondary battery 85 for supplying electric power to a motor 24a and a carrier 22 for carrying luggage 150, in which the carrier 22 is located behind a seat 15 for supporting an operator and above rear wheels WR. The carrier 22 is formed like a box having an internal storing space and the secondary battery 85 comprising a plurality of nearly rectangular parallelepiped cells 87 is stored in the internal space of the carrier 22, thereby increasing the flexibility of the layout of the vehicle body.
