摘要： PURPOSE:To flatten the output distribution in axial direction by forming the upper part of a 1st combustible poison containing fuel rod to concentration different from the upper part of a 2nd combustible poison-containing fuel rod and making the concentration difference between their upper parts larger than the difference between the lower parts. CONSTITUTION:Gadolinium-containing rods G2 are arranged in an area 83, where fuel rods arranged in the 3rd layer from the outermost periphery of the fuel assembly 1 are positioned, adjacently to a large-diameter water rod 7. The fuel rods G2 are 5.0wt.% in gadolinium concentration within a range from the lower end of the fuel effective length to 12/24 as large as the reactor core effective length and 4.5wt.% above it in a gadolinium concentration 2 area. In an area 82 positioned outside the area 83 where the fuel rods G2 are arranged, gadolinium-containing fuel rods G1 which are 0.5 wt.% increased in gadolinium concentration at the lower part as compared with the fuel rods G2 and 1.0wt.% decreased at the upper part are arranged.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve the fuel economy of the fuel assembly by disposing fuel rods which constitute one square grating arrangement between the plural fuel rods which constitute the other square grating arrangements. CONSTITUTION:The square grating arrangements 7A and 7B of this fuel assembly are disposed in parallel with the side face of an upper tie plate 2 or lower tie plate 3. The square grating arrangements 7A and 7B are parallel with the side face of a channel box 6 and the fuel rods 4 of the arrangement 7B are disposed at the center of the square shape formed of the arrangement 7A. Namely, the state in which the arrangement 7B is superposed within the arrangement 7A by shifting the mutual pitches by 1/2 is attained. The flow passage area of the coolant in the peripheral part of the fuel assembly is increased according to such fuel rod arrangements, by which the thermal allowance and output peaking are increased and the fuel economy of the fuel assembly is improved.

摘要： PURPOSE:To reduce pressure loss of a spacer part and enable the increase of a thermal allowance composing a spacer of a rhomboid cell which has a number of curved surfaces which are mutually adjacently made lattices and supporting fuel rods by the use of the rhomboid cell. CONSTITUTION:A fuel rod 4 is inserted in a rhomboid independent cell 18 and supported by a projection 19 and a longitudinal plate spring 20. The upper and lower sides of the longitudinal plate spring 20 are respectively fixed on the wall surface of the rhomboid cell 18 and the fuel rod 4 is horizontally fixed by the spring force thereof. Therefore, since the projected area of a spacer is reduced and the flow passage area of coolant is increased, the coolant is easy to flow and the pressure loss in a fuel channel, especially reduction of pressure loss of a spacer part and increase of a thermal allowance of a fuel assembly are enabled.

摘要： PURPOSE:To largely change the average voids of the inside by providing a coolant descending flow passage which guides a coolant downward reverse from the flow direction of the coolant in a coolant rising flow passage and providing a discharge port communicating with the coolant descending flow passage to the side wall of the coolant rising flow passage. CONSTITUTION:Steam is filled in the coolant descending flow passage 26 of a water rod 19 when the flow rate of the coolant passing the reactor core decreases. The quantity of the steam in the coolant descending flow passage 26 decreases drastically upon increasing of the cooling flow rate thereof. The reactivity in the end period of the fuel cycle can, therefore, be increased. The discharge port 36 communicating with the coolant descending flow passage 26 is provided to the side wall of the coolant rising flow passage 25 and, therefore, the quantity of the vapor existing in the rod is gently changed even if the flow rate of the coolant supplied into the water rod 19 increases. The spectral shift operation in a nuclear-stale state is thus enabled.

The grid plate 4a and the three handles 41A-41C of the partial grid plates 4B, 4C pinned thereto are then lifted to disconnect the plates. The socket and spigot fitting is disconnected and the grid plate 4A is movable if the handle 41A is turned counterclockwise. Namely, the upper grid plates necessary for the exchange of the control rod can be removed and moved by the simple operation and, therefore, the exchange of the control rod is facilitated.
