    • PURPOSE:To prevent the heat exchange efficiency from lowering and the ventilation resistance from increasing thereby to make it difficult to freeze by so forming the counter of horizontal fins that condensed water staying on the surfaces fins quickly flows down. CONSTITUTION:In the evaporator of an air conditioner in which fins which carry out a heat exchange with a coolant by making contact with air re horizon tal with respect to the gravitational direction, a triangular cutout 13 having a width 3+ or -1mm and a depth of 3+ or -1mm is formed on the leeward end 12 of fins. Air flows from the left hand to the right hand, and water condensed on the surface of fins falls downward through gaps formed in a louver. However, when the flow speed of air if large, air rides over the louver and flows heavily to the leeward end, and a large quantity of condensed water gathers on the leeward end 12 of the fins and flows down through the cutout 13.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the heat-exchange efficiency of the title evapolator, and to increase the cooling capacity thereof, by a method wherein at one part in which the dryness of a refrigerant is small, refrigerant pathways are formed so that a heat transfer area becomes larger, and the other part in which the dryness thereof is large, the refrigerant pathways are formed so that the refrigerant is well mixed. CONSTITUTION:Each tube element 1b for which insert fins 5 are held between tube plates 1a to be refrigerant pathways, or each tube element 1d for which two tube plates 1c wrought in the shape of irregularities are put together, and each corrugated fin 2 are alternately stacked, and thus the title evaporator is formed. The tube elements 1b are arranged on the side of an inlet pipe 3 for a refrigerant, and the tube elements 1d are arranged on the side of an outlet pipe 4 therefor. Since the tube elements 1b in which the insert fins 5 having a large heat transfer area are held for the refrigerant pathways, are located within the range of X, the efficiency of heat-exchange is made larger. On the other hand, although the dryness of the refrigerant on the downstream side is as large as nearly equal to one by evaporation, the deflected flow of the refrigerant is restrained since guides for mixing the refrigerant liquid and the refrigerant gaseous are formed. In ranging the whole of the part of Y, therefore, the heat-exchange between the refrigerant and air is equally performed, and thus the efficiency of the heat--exchanges is improved and the capacity of cooling is increased.

    • PURPOSE:To effectively utilize whole capacity of a condenser during a high load and to prevent lowering of heat exchange capacity by a method wherein an on-off valve and the closing part of a double pipe are arranged to the double pipe part of a header pipe, located in the vicinity of an inlet part for a refrigerant, so that a refrigerant is prevented from flowing in a flat pipe. CONSTITUTION:A small pipe 4 is inserted in an upper header pipe 1a to form a double pipe, and a closed part 5 is located in the header pipe 1a on the outer side of deepmost end part of the small pipe 4. An on-off valve 6 to pass and shut off the flow of a refrigerant is located in the header pipe la on the outer side of the refrigerant inlet part of the small pipe 4. By closing the on-off valve 6, capacity of a condenser is reduced, and by decreasing heat exchange capacity, the delivery pressure and the suction pressure of a variable capacity compressor are prevented from lowering. Running of the compressor is practicable, and a vaporizer is prevented from being iced. By opening the on-off valve 6 during a high load, capacity of the condenser can be entirely effectively utilized. Especially, a refrigerant is guided to a part, spaced away from an inlet part for a refrigerant, by means of the small pipe 4 because of an upper head pipe 1a being a double pipe, and deficiency in a refrigerant is prevented from occurring.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the buckling deformation of a heat exchanger, eliminate the collapse of a flat heat transfer tube and prevent the reduction of the amount of exchanging heat by a method wherein the thicknesses of intermediate pillars, nearest to both ends of the flat heat transfer tube, are made thicker than the thickness of other intermediate pillars. CONSTITUTION:In a serpentine type heat exchanger, in which a flat heat transfer tube 1 is bent so as to have a meandering shape and corrugate fins 2 are pinched between the meandered flat tubes, the flat heat transfer tube 1 is provided with a plurality of inner fins 1b or intermediate pillars in the flow passage of fluid, however, the thicknesses (t1), (tn) of the intermediate pillars 1a, which are nearest to both ends of the flat heat transfer tube, are made thicker than the thicknesses (t2), (t3),...(tn-2), (tn-1) of other intermediate pillars. When the flat heat transfer tube 1 is bent so as to have the meandering shape, compression forces, larger than the compression forces applied on the other intermediate pillars, are applied on the intermediate pillars, which are nearest to both ends of the tube 1, however, buckling deformation will never be generated in the intermediate pillars nearest to both ends of the tube 1 in this case. As a result, the outer peripheral parts of both ends of the flat heat transfer tube 1 will never be collapsed, the flow passage of fluid in the tube 1 will never be narrowed whereby the reduction of the amount of exchanging heat may be prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent deformation of louvers during their forming process and make a smooth air flow by a method wherein some small projections made by a drawing work are provided in order to reduce a difference in developed lengths of each of louvers having a difference in steps. CONSTITUTION:A planer surface of a corrugated fin 10 is provided with a repetition of alternative group of louvers with a predetermined stepped pattern of arrangement by some cut and raised louvers 2, 3, 4 and 5 except a part 1 of the plane and the cut and raise margin 1. A part of the fins 10 is contacted with a thermal conducting pipe 6. A drawing force is applied to an entire louver from both longitudinal sides of the louver toward its central part so as to form small projections 7 at the central part of the louver. Small projections 7 are provided in the louver having the shortest developing length under a drawing work, so that it is possible to reduce a difference in developed lengths during a drawing work at both louver 1 and the upper-most louver 2 having a large developed length. Even if the drawing force acting upon the upper-most louver 2 is influenced against the louver 1, this drawing force is adsorbed by the louver 1 so as to restrict any deformation of each of the louvers 1. An edge line of each of small projections 7 is arranged in parallel with an air flowing direction A, so that a smooth air flow can be held.
