    • PURPOSE: To compensate the response delay of a DC current and minimize the ripple of DC voltage so as to use a smoothing capacitor of smaller value by quickening the response control from the current controller of the converter performing normal conversion to the current ripple on the DC side of the converter performing reverse conversion, more than the current controller of the converter. CONSTITUTION: A smoothing capacitor 6 is connected between the terminals of a converters 1 and 4, and both converters 1 and 4 are controlled by current controllers 10 and 15 which control several AC currents. The response control from the current controller 10 of the converter 1 performing normal conversion to the current ripple on AC side of the converter 4 performing reverse conversion is quickened more than the current controller 15 of the converter 4 performing reverse conversion. Hereby, the AC current of the converter performing normal conversion is controlled prior to that of the converter 4 performing reverse conversion. Accordingly, the response delay of the DC current is compensated, and the DC voltage ripple is minimized, whereby the capacity of the smoothing capacitor 6 can be reduced.

As a result, in input currents Iu1, Iu2 of the thyristor converters 4, 4', harmonic components which are expressed by 6 m ± a first order, m=1, 3, 5,...} is increased, also an overall distorsion factor is increased, and a harmonic component which is expressed by 12 ± a first order, n=1, 2, 3,...} is reduced.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the high speed for control response without the effect of a pulsating component when the pulsating component is present in the detected value of a current. SOLUTION: This system is constituted so that a voltage command value is operated by sampling the current command value of a load and the detected value of the current, the voltage command value and a triangular wave carrier are compared, PWM(pulse-width modulation) pulses are generated and driving is performed by the WMP pulses. In this case, when the current command value and the detected value of the current are sampled and the operating amount is operated, the periodicity of the pulsating component included in the detected current value is considered, and the detected current value is sampled at a period 11, which is longer than a period 13 for sampling the current command value. In the meantime, the calculation of the operating amount is performed in a short period in compliance with the sampling period 13 of the current command value.
