    • PURPOSE:To increase the desalting efficiency by charging a slurry of an ion- exchange resin into a desalting tower, pressurizing the inside of the tower to carry out pressure filtration of the resin, and discharging the water from the bottom of the tower at a water discharging velocity identical to or higher than the settling velocity of the resin to pack the resin into the tower. CONSTITUTION:A resin slurry 20 and the air 40 are introduced into a desalting tower 1. The water discharging velocity is decreased due to the filtration resistance caused by a resin layer which is formed by the progress of the charging of the resin. Since the inside of the desalting tower 1 is pressurized with the air 40, the water in the slurry is filtered by the resin layer with pressure and discharged from a valve 33V. The water is discharged by the pressure filtration always at a velocity higher than the settling velocity of the resin and the void ratio of the resin is made constant or small to prevent the separation of the resin. The resin mixed at a mixing tower is transferred to the desalting tower 1 with pressure by pressurizing the mixing tower while circulating water.

    • PURPOSE:To increase the collecting efficiency of magnetic fine particles in a liquid and to facilitate the washing thereof, by a method wherein a magnetic fine wire with a small cross area is molded into a screw form and the interior of the filter tower of an electromagnetic filter is filled with the molded screw shaped magnetic fine wire while an electromagnetic coil is arranged around the filter tower. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic fine wire with a small cross area, for example, having a short diameter of about 30mum and a long diameter of about 70mum is formed into a screw form having a diameter of, for example, about 2mm. and the interior of a filter tower 2 is filled with this screw shaped fine wire 5 through dispersing plates 4, 5. A liquid containing magnetic fine particles is introduced into the filter tower 2 from an arranged pipe 10a and magnetic fine particles are collected by the magnetic fine wire 1 under the action of a high gradient magnetic field while the treated liquid is discharged from an arranged pipe 10b. By this mechanism, the magnetic fine wire holds strength and the interior of the filter tower 2 can be uniformly filled therewith while collected magnetic fine particles can be easily removed out of the filter tower 2 from an arranged pipe 10d by extruding the liquid in the filter tower 2 to the outside at a high flow speed in such a state that values 20a, 20b are closed and valves 20c, 20d are opened.

    • PURPOSE:To attain the removal of N component and the following sludge in waste water in a high degree without using chemicals, by contacting nitrification regenerating liquid of cation exchanger adsorbed NH4 -N in the waste water with the sludge generated in the waste water treating process and promoting denitrification reaction. CONSTITUTION:Waste water is introduced 2 into the settling pond 1 and supernatant liquid separated from the settling coarse precipitate 22, is sent to the adsorption vessel 5. Then, NH4 -N in the waste water is removed by the ion exchange ability of zeolite in the vessel 5 and the primay treating water is sent to the aeration vessel 14. The activated sludge 23 having COD oxidizing ability, is flowed in the vessel 14 from the settling pond 18 through the ducts 20, 10. Also, the vessel 14 is maintained at an aerobic atmosphere by minute air bubbles containing O2 and organic matter in the waste water is decomposed by oxydation by the sludge 23. Next, said treating water is flowed in the pond 18 with the sludge 23 and the sludge in the treating water is settled and then, the sludge is separated from the supernatant liquid. On the one hand, O2 is supplied to the vessel 5 through the duct 9 and the sludge containing nitrification bacteria, is supplied to the precipitation vessel 15 and then, the zeolite is regenerated.
