    • PURPOSE:To secure a good sealing performance of a universal joint even in case its packing seal is damaged by excessive heat application, wherein the universal joint is of such a structure that the fit part of the two members is made airtight with packing seal in which a second tube member in straight form is fitted in connection with the first tube member in straight form in such a way as capable of relative rotation and in the condition that slipping-off is prevented. CONSTITUTION:In the fit part a sealing means consisting of a metal ring member having small wall thickness is tightly fitted between the inserting cylinder part 11 of the first tube member and the base end of the coupling cylinder part 21 of the second tube member which is fitted on the inserting cylinder part 11 in the condition that slipping-off is prevented. The sealing means may be of such a structure that it has a U-section and is fitted by pressure between the two members concentrically, that is fitted tightly on the opposed cylinder part protruding from the two members, or that a small wall thickness cylindrical part protruding at the other side is tightly fitted on the cylindrical part furnished on the other side.

And the engaging element 3 is held by an annular body 5 whose inside diameter is slightly larger than that of the angled part P1, and the annular body 5 is energized to the release end side of the insertion side cyilinder part 2, thereby the engaging element 3 can be extended and contracted in the radius direction of the insertion side cylinder part 2.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a plug for quickly connecting a coupler so as to cope with various different kinds of hose ends. CONSTITUTION:A value body 5 operated by the operating rod 4 of a quick coupler 3 and an operating annulus 7 slid while being brought in pressure contact with the tip of a hose end 2 are fit and inserted in the main body 1 of a cylindrical plug whose front end is formed as a quick coupler connecting part A and rear end is formed as a hose end inserting part B, a compression spring 8 serving both as the return spring of the valve body 5 and the return spring of the operating annulus 7 is interposed between the valve body 5 and the operating annulus 7, and a packing 10 which is tightly stuck on the outer circumferential surface of the hose end 2 is mounted on the inner circumference of an annular screw 9 which is screwed to the rear end part of the main body 1. The front surface of the annular screw 9 is formed as a stopper 9a for receiving the rear end of the operating annulus 7, and an annular coil spring 11 is fit on the outer circumference of the rear end part of the operating annulus 7, and when the operating annulus 7 is push-pressed by the hose end 2 and moved forward, the coil spring 11 is engaged with a step part formed on the inner circumferential surface of the main body 1, so that it is fallen down from the operating annulus 7, and fit to the recessed part of the outer circumference of the hose end 2.

    • PURPOSE:To make the cutting of a gas pipe possible without stopping the supply of gas by injecting sealing material after a cutting blade in a live pipe branching joint is driven through a piston to drill the gas pipe, and connecting the gas pipe under a condition where a gas flow is cut off through the sealing material. CONSTITUTION:In the case where a gas pipe in the earth is shortened to shift the position of an outdoor gas meter, a live pipe branching joint A is first fastenedly fixed on the upstream side of the cut spot of the gas pipe 1. Next, a bushing 25 having a gun fittedly inserting hole 24 provided in its central part is fittedly attached to a branched pipe connecting port 15, and a sealing material injecting gun 16 is insertedly attached to the bushing 25. After a piston 13 is then actuated by a bush pin to open a through hole in the gas pipe 2 by cutting blade 14, the gun 16 is instantly shot to lead sealing material B into the gas pipe 2 through the joint A for choking the gas pipe 2. After the upstream and downstream sides of the joint A are cut in this state, and choked by a pipe end plug 27, the joint A is disused, and another joint A' is attached on the upstream side of the joint A, and piping for a new meter is connected to the joint A'.
