CONSTITUTION:In a recorder, recording data transmitted from a host device is received by a data reception part 104 and stored in a RAM 102, and the data is read out at an issuance of a recording factor, such as a recording instruction. A CPU 101 controls an operation of a recording action sequence stored in a ROM 103 in conducting recording. In the recording action, if an error detection part 113 detects, for example, an ink exhaustion, the color of the exhausted ink used in the recorder is judged for conducting an error canceling processing corresponding to the ink of the color judged to have an ink exhaustion error. In addition, the effect that the ink is exhausted is displayed, and a delivery recovering processing is conducted after the ink is replenished.

After that, data for one line is read into a buffer. The ambient temperature T0 is detected, and the motor temperature T is calculated. The printing direction is judged. If the printing direction is from right to left, a printing heating timing is corrected based on a value T for correcting a printing position. If the printing direction is from left to right, a carrier is driven by one step, and the drive step counter N is set forward by 1. Namely, a right-to- left printing is corrected based on a left-to-right printing.
