CONSTITUTION:The sand control ring 1 for preventing the sand, dust, etc., from entering the inside of the lens barrel is formed to a nearly cylindrical shape, the notch is formed on a part of the cylindrical end part, and the part is bent toward the inner peripheral side so as to form a bent part 1a and it is inserted while being engaged with the outer peripheral part of a photographic lens group holder 3. By eliminating a certain part of the sand control ring 1 in such a way, a motor 4 as a driving power source for a zoom mechanism can be arranged close to the lens holder 3, so that the lens barrel can be miniaturized and simultaneously the degree of freedom in arrangement is increased. And also, by forming the bent part 1a, some of a luminous flux made incident from an objective lens is prevented from being reflected by the outer peripheral surface of the motor 4, so that reflected light is prevented from being made incident on a photographic surface.

Thus, the reflection on the end face of the objective lens is cut by the reflection mirror 17 and the AF mark is reflected by the dot-state mirror part 18, then the subject image is transmitted through a gap in the mirror part 18 and simultaneously observed with the AF mark.

Next, whether or not it is a macro area is judged based on range-finding information detected by an AF detector 2 and the information on the focal distance which is the wide angle end. In the case of discriminating that it is the macro area, a 2nd stroke SW2 is turned on, a zoom motor 1 is driven to a telephoto side and a variable power lens is moved from the wide angle end to the telephoto side by a necessary quantity. Thus, the shortage of the light quantities in four corners of the frame in the macro area is prevented in the case of using a zoom lens at the wide angle end.

Then, a hollow cylindrical guide barrel 21 arranged on the outer periphery of the rubber 30 is fixed on the aperture part of a supporting bottom board 19 by adhesion and guides the rubber 30 which is elongated and contracted.
