    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer resin (EVOH resin) having improved flexibility and elongation properties while maintaining its excellent gas barrier properties.
      SOLUTION: A resin solution obtained by dissolving an EVOH resin into an aqueous solvent, and a rubber latex are mixed together. The obtained mixed solution is dried and solidified to form a thermoplastic resin/rubber composite composition in which an island phase composed of the rubber is dispersed in a sea phase composed of the EVOH resin. Since the sea phase of the EVOH resin forms a continuous layer, the gas barrier properties of the EVOH resin is fully maintained, while the flexibility and elongation properties are improved, the brittle fracture behavior of the EVOH resin is alleviated, and properties like those of ductile materials or rubber materials are realized, owing to the fact that the rubber latex particles of a nanometer size are dispersed in the EVOH resin phase.
