    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a connection test by a lower speed test signal than the transmission band of a transmission path to be performed without adding a test receiver or other like configuration to an AC coupled transmission path.SOLUTION: A receiving device comprises: a detection circuit which determines whether the signal amplitude of a transmission path is equal to or greater than a reference value; a control circuit which controls the detection signal into an operating state at the time of test for a connection between the receiving device and the transmission path; and a regeneration circuit which, when the signal amplitude changes from a value less than the reference value to a value exceeding the reference value and further changes from a value exceeding the reference value to a value less than the reference value, regenerates a transmission waveform from a transmission device in the transmission path on the basis of the result of signal amplitude determination by the detection circuit.
