    • PURPOSE:To eliminate the loss due to the adhesion of a slurry to a jig by alternately holding a metal base material by two jigs to raise and lower the same and dipping the held metal base material in the slurry within a dip tank to uniformly form a catalyst carrier or catalyst coating layer on the metal base material by one process. CONSTITUTION:At the time of the production of a catalyst member, at first, a current is applied to a first jig 2 by a control device 6 and a metal base material 1 is fixed to the jig 2. Next, the first jig 2 is allowed to fall to be immersed in a slurry 5. The supply of a current to the first jig 2 is cut off while a current is applied to a second jig 3 and the metal base material 1 is fixed to the second jig 3. Continuously, the second jig 3 is allowed to fall to immerse the whole of the metal base material 1 in the slurry 5. Further, the supply of a current to the second jig 3 is cut off while a current is applied to the first jig 2 and the metal base material 1 is fixed to the first jig 2. The first jig 2 is raised to be moved to a palette and the application of a current is cut off to separate the metal base material. Thereafter, the metal base material 1 is dried and baked to form a catalyst film.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a catalyst and a catalyzed combustion device wherein a catalytic layer is preheated in a short time and heat generated by reaction is uniformized by the catalytic layer and performance is maintained stably in a long time. CONSTITUTION:This catalyzed combustion device is equipped with a mixing chamber 6 for premixing fuel and air, a catalytic layer 7 which is positioned in the downstream side of the mixing chamber 6 and has many communication holes and an exhaust port 11 equipped in the downstream side of the catalystic layer 9. A structural body is formed by combining a sheet metal with a paper layer constituted of heat resistant inorganic fiber as a main component, corrugating and working the combined material. The catalytic layer 9 is constituted by dispersing and carrying catalytic metal on at least the paper layer constituted of heat resistant inorganic fiber as the main component in the structural body. The catalytic metal carried on the paper layer constituted of inorganic fiber having small heat capacity as the main component is preheated at the sufficient temperature in a comparatively short time. Further, since heat of reaction generated by catalyzed combustion is transmitted by the sheet metal whose heat conductivity is excellent, temperature difference in a range from the upstream part of the catalytic layer to the downstream part thereof is made small.

    • PURPOSE:To hold a catalyst layer and provide a sufficient gas sealing between the catalyst layer and the support frame body by fitting the projection that is provided on the support frame body into the groove provided in the end face of a catalyst layer. CONSTITUTION:Combustion is made at an auxiliary flame port 5 for a specified time and at the time when the temperature of a catalyst layer 7 is raised to the temperature to make the catalyst layer 7 perform catalyst combustion the fuel supply to the auxiliary flame port 5 is once stopped and the flame at the auxiliary flame port 5 is extinguished and then the fuel supply is started again. At this time the premixture gas out of a mixing chamber 4 flows upwards and reaches the upright catalyst layer 7. The temperature of the catalyst layer 7 is sufficiently raised and the premixture gas generates catalyst combustion mainly on the surface on the upstream side (front face) and flows through a honeycomb-shaped through-holes 7a to the downstream side. At the same time, the premixture gas tries to pass the circumferential section of the catalyst layer 7, too. Furthermore, the premixture gas that enters the circumferential section is obstructed by the projections 11 of the support frame body that is provided to fit in the groove of the catalyst layer 7. Further, the premixture gas that tries to pass the circumferential section of the projections 11 is subjected to oxidation reaction in the side groove of the catalyst layer 7.

CONSTITUTION:The carrier 1 of a catalyst body for catalytic combustion is composed of porous cordierite porcelain and has small holes (cells) each having a square opening part. A perovskite type oxide catalyst 2 composed of a composition of La0.3Sr0.65Co0.7 Fe0.3O3-delta is supported on a small hole inner wall surface with width W1 and lower end surface on the fuel inflow side of the porous catalyst carrier and platinum (Pt) 3 is supported on the small hole inner wall surface with width W2 and upper end surface on the combustion exhaust gas outflow side. At the start time of combustion, at first, oxidation reaction is generated in the platinum group catalyst support layer excellent in low temp. activity and, subsequently, the oxide catalyst support layer positioned on a fuel inflow side is heated by the generated heat of reaction to high temp. and the reaction region moves to the oxide catalyst support layer as temp. becomes high. Thereafter, combustion is continuously performed in the oxide catalyst support layer.

    • PURPOSE:To remove odor and harmfull gas in a shoe housing box completely and for a long life with a simple constitution by providing a heat generator having at least a catalyst-covered layer and a fan means inside of the shoe housing box having an opening/closing door. CONSTITUTION:When a shoe 6 is placed into a box 9 having an opening/closing door 7, a fan 1 starts operating to send air in the box 9 to a heat generator. Hot air heated by the heat generator 2 is blown off through a hot air blowoff port 4 into the shoe housed in the box 9. Odor component contained in the air in the shoe housing space 8 is sent to the heat generator 2 by the fan 1 and oxidized and dissolved by catalysis of a catalyst-covered layer 3 which forms a surface of the heat generator 2 which is heated by the heat generator 2 to be active, and finally removed. A heat shelter 5 prevents the shoe 6 from being heated directly by infrared rays generated from the heat generator 2 to be of a high temperature. Protrusion of the hot air blowoff port 4 into the shoe housing space is effective in colliding hot air against a toe part of the shoe 6 which is hard to dry.
