    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to form composite piezo-electric materials of various properties simply by making the kind of resin to be filled different and forming filled organic substance in the double layer structure of two kinds of resins. CONSTITUTION:A vibrator 201 is temporarily bonded to a stand 203 with a bonding agent 202. Then, the vibrator 201 is cut in matrixlike form to about half of its thickness to form a cut groove 204. A resin 207 such as polyurethane, epoxy, etc. is filled in the cut groove 204 and cured and the bonding agent is melted. The vibrator is turned backward and bonded to the stand 203 with wax, etc. A cut groove 209 until arriving at the cut groove 204 is formed, and filled with the resin, etc. and cured 210 to form a resin part on the back side of the probe. A composite material is made by malting the wax and stripping off from 203. Above-mentioned resin 207 is made different in material quality from 201. For instance, one of epoxy, polyurethane, silicone rubber, etc. is used as the resin 207 and 210.     • PURPOSE:To regulate a shape of a ultrasonic beam and to accomplish a beam scan by forming a chrominum film on a base board, then forming a lower electrode of a gold film pattern on said chrominum film and employing a characteristic of the gold electrode film. CONSTITUTION:A single surface of a base board 60 is optically ground, and a chrominum film 61 is deposited thereon. Then, on the chrominum film 61, pattern gold films 62-1-62-n are formed by photolighography. By using said films as a base board a zinc oxide thin film 63 of about 4mum is formed by high frequency magnetron/spattering, and upper electrodes 64-1-64-n are formed thereon by overlapping gold film pattern of the lower electrodes 62-1-62-n, which is made to a ultrasonic transducer with array structure. When n-number of elements consisting of the lower electrodes 62-1-62-n and the upper electrodes 64-1-64-n are sequentially switched and driven by plural elements so as to irradiate a sound wave, its beam can be scanned in a sharp beam shape in the direction of the array.

    • PURPOSE:To generate a short ultrasonic pulse by making the frequency characteristic of an ultrasonic probe broad-band, by constituting the ultrasonic probe by embedding a large number of columnar piezoelectric bodies in an org. material. CONSTITUTION:For example, a large number of columner bodies 22 comprising lead zircotitanate (PZT) ceramic are embedded in a polyurethane resin 21 and this resin 21 is formed into a planoconvex shape (a) or a planoconcave shape (b) to obtain an ultrasonic probe. In fabricating this probe, PZT ceramic 32 of a planoconvex plate is placed on a ferrite substrate 31 and notches are provided thereto. Next, the polyurethane resin 34 is injected in the notches and solidified. Subsequently, the molded one is detached and the concave surface part of the ceramic 32 is placed on a separate convex ferrite substrate 33 and notches are similarly formed to the back side thereof and the polyurethane resin 34 is injected in the notches. Because the obtained probe is formed as a composite piezoelectric body wherein a large number of columnar piezoelectric bodies are embedded in an org. substance, it has a broad-band characteristic and is easily fabricated.
