CONSTITUTION:A water collecting pipe 1 is pierced with openings 1a for allowing the inside of the pipe to communicate with the outside, and a separation membrane 3 is wound on the outer periphery through a corrugated spacer 2. The separation membrane 3 has a bag shape, the water collecting pipe 1 is wrapped up in the central part 3a, and the non-central parts 3b and 3c are laminated, and the laminate is wound on the periphery of the water collecting pipe 1. A mesh spacer 4 is inserted into the bag-shaped separation membrane 3. The spacer 2 is corrugated, continuously extended, and provided with a meandering rolling strip. Raw water is passed between the separation membranes 3 along both surfaces of the spacer 2, permeated through the separation membrane 3 on the way, and sent into a permeated water passage 5. The permeated water flows in the passage 5, enters the water collecting pipe 1 from the opening 1a, and is discharged from the module.

The units are vertically provided in plural stages, and the liq. feed hole 10 of the lower filter unit 12-III (12-II) is positioned at a level lower than the discharge hole 11 of the upper filter unit 12-II (12-I). The raw liq. flows in from the liq. feed hole 10 of the upper unit 12-I, and the filtrate permeated through the filter membrane 9 enters into the liq. collecting part 8 and is discharged from a liq. discharge hole 13. The liq. concentrate not permeated through the filter membrane enters into the liq. feed hole 10 of the intermediate filter unit 12-II from the discharge hole 11 of the filter unit 12-I, flows downward, and is successively filtered.

    • PURPOSE:To carry out effective back washing by a small volume of back washing water by executing only the exfoliation of a pollutant by back flow of treated water and executing the ejection of the exfoliated pollutant by water to be treated. CONSTITUTION:A valve 13 is first closed to increase the pressure in a treated water chamber 5 at the time of back washing filter media 3. A pump 6 is then stopped to decrease the pressure in a water to be treated chamber 4. The pres sure in the treated water chamber 5 is made higher than the pressure in the water to be treated chamber 4 so that the treated water flows backward from the chamber 5 toward the chamber 4, thereby exfoliating the pollutant sticking and depositing to the filter media 3. The pump 6 is then started to introduce the water to be treated from a line 7 into the chamber 4. The pollutant contained in a suspended state in the chamber 4 is discharged from a line 8 to the outside of a pressure chamber 2. The liquid in the chamber 4 is conveyed by the treated water and after the liquid is thoroughly discharged through the line 8, the operating pressure of the pump 6 is increased up to the sepn. pressure; at the same time, the valve 13 is opened. The operation is thus reset to an ordinary filtration treatment operation.

After lapse of a specified time, the passages of the three-way valves 36 and 44 are changed, the supply liq. is introduced from the opening 32 through the pipelines 38, 48, and 42, the permeated liq. is discharged from the pipeline 52, and the concd. liq. is discharged from the opening 30 through the pipelines 50 and 46. The flowing direction of the supply liq. is thus changed in the normal and the reverse directions.

      CONSTITUTION: A treatment tank 1 is successively packed with a large particle size particulate material packed bed 2 of plastic or anthracite, an aluminum- containing substance packed bed 3 of activated alumina and a small particle size particulate material packed bed 5 of sand from above. A reaction solution prepared by injecting a chemical solution in raw water and reacting both of them is supplied to the treatment tank 1 by a pump 13 and passed through packed layers 2W5 in downward flow to collect a flocculated substance. Treated water, from which the flocculated substance was collected, is introduced into a treated water tank 15 from a treated water pipe 14.
