    • PURPOSE:To control the peak value of a light output pulse constantly even for the variation in the mark rate and duty ratio of a modulation signal by controlling the reference value of a bias controlling circuit of a laser diode in accordance with the average value of the modulation signal. CONSTITUTION:A bias current is supplied to a laser diode 1 formed of amplifier A having transistors 3, 10 grounded in AC manner at the input side, the light output of the diode 1 is partly fed back to a photodiode 2 provided at the input side of the amplifier A, and the photodetecting current is inputted to the amplifier A, thereby stabilizing the optical output of the diode 1 by providing a differential amplifier 12, a reference voltage supply terminal 13, a resistor 14, a capacitor 15, and a modulation signal (voltage signal) supply terminal 16. The modulation signal supplied to the terminal 16 by the resistor 14 and the capacitor 15 is averaged, and a DC voltage is outputted. This DC voltage and the reference voltage from the terminal 13 are supplied to the amplifier 12, which amplifies the difference between the voltages as the bias voltage of the diode 2.

    • PURPOSE:To sufficiently increase the biase voltage to be applied to a photodiode when a bias circuit is composed of a laser diode, a photo diode and a transistor by a method wherein a constant-voltage diode is inserted in a photo diode DC circuit. CONSTITUTION:When a part of luminuous output of a laser diode 1 is guided to a photo diode 2 through a medium of a photo wave-guide passage 11, the current flowing from a DC power source 11 to a series circuit of a resistor 8 and a diode 2 is determined in relation to the luminous output of the diode 1. In this constitution, the luminous output of the diode 1 is monitored using the output voltage of a monitor voltage wave-form output terminal 13 through a intermediary of a capacitor 9, the current flowing in the diode 2 is added to a curret amplfier consisting of transistors 3 and 4, and with this output the negative feed-back of the DC bias current of the diode 1 is controlled and the luminous output can be stabilized. As a result, the output is stabilized, but as the monitor voltage wave-form is distorted, a constant-voltage diode 16 is provided between the transistor 3 and 4 and the distorsion of the wave form is removed.

    • PURPOSE:To enable electrically monitoring of a light emitting output waveform without impairing stable action of mean light emitting output of a laser diode by providing a resistance element connected to a photodiode in series in such a manner that a DC bias path of an amplifier is formed. CONSTITUTION:Supplied with a bias current from a transistor 3, a laser diode emits light at a certain action level according to a modulation signal from an input terminal 8. The light emitting output of the laser diode 1 is transmitted to a photodiode 2 by way of a light wave guide 9, which provides a photodetecting current according to the light emitting output of the laser diode 1 to the base of a transistor 10. In this case, the base of the transistor 10 is grounded in an AC manner with a condenser 6 so that only DC component is inputted thereto as control signal. Connected in series to a photodiode 1, a resistance element 12 is provided to detect the photodetecting current whereby the light emitting output waveform is obtained from a monitor terminal 14 without impairing the stability of the light emitting output of the laser diode 1.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce delay due to multiplex for a cell in which no possibility of the cell discard and the delay in a slave device is allowed by preferentially controlling the multiplex for the slave device based on a signal from a residual amount monitor. SOLUTION: The number of residual cells in a buffer 102 is monitored by a residual amount monitoring circuit 116 and the number of the residual cells in the buffer is informed to a master device 11 in the slave device 12. A monitor circuit output signal 117 is received in the master device 11, one of the slave devices 12 to execute polling, for example, 12i is determined and a preferential control result 119 is transmitted to a polling control circuit 110 in a preferential control circuit 118. An individual polling signal 111i is outputted for line slave 12i corresponding to the control result 119 in the polling control circuit 110, the cell in a buffer 102i is read by a reading control circuit 105i, cell flow 106i is transmitted to the master device 11 and the cell flow is received by a cell reception circuit 112 in the slave device 12i.
