    • PURPOSE:To properly control toner concentration and to stably form effective images even at the slow carrying speed of a developer by allowing only a sleeve to optionally rotate and allowing a detection means for detecting the developer stored in the bottom of a toner retainer in the vicinity of the sleeve to interlock with a toner feeding roll. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic carrier means 3 is constituted of the sleeve 4 and a permanent magnetic member 5 formed coaxially with the sleeve 4 and the sleeve 4 is formed so as to be optionally rotated. When the toner density of the developer 2 on the sleeve 4 is proper, the quantity of the developer stored in the vicinity of the sleeve 4 existing on the bottom part of the toner retainer 1 is held at a prescribed value and the feeding of excess magnetic toner 11 is stopped, and only when the quantity of the developer 2 is less than the prescribed quantity, a toner feeding roll 10 arranged on the upper part of the toner retainer 1 is driven by a signal outputted from the detection means 8 to feed the toner 11. Consequently, the developer 2 can be carried at a slow speed, the toner concentration can be controlled to a proper value and effective images can be stably formed.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the formation of nonmagnetic particles or weakly magnetic particles even in the case of a reduced particle size and reduced magnetic force of a magnetic toner and to obtain a high-quality image by incorporating a specified amt. of powder of an iron oxide type magnetic material having a specified average particles size. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetic toner contg. a binding resin and powder of a magnetic material is produced, one or more kinds of iron oxide type magnetic materials such as Fe3O4 and Fe2O3 are used as the magnetic material. Fe3O4 is desirably used from the viewpoint of magnetic characteristics and hue. The average particle size of the powder is regulated to 0.03-0.1mum and the content to 10-45wt.%. Even in the case where the magnetic force and particle size of the magnetic toner are reduced, the formation of nonmagnetic particles or weakly magnetic particles is prevented and a high-quality image free from ground fog can be obtd.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain an image of high density and high resolution without inducing any ground fogging by carrying out development by applying a low-frequency AC bias voltage to magnetic toner formed by mixing magnetic toner having the same polarity with magnetic carriers and magnetic toner having the opposite polarity at a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic toner 2 is used which is obtained by mixing 1-20wt.% magnetic toner with the same polarity with the magnetic carriers and 80-99wt.% magnetic toner having the opposite polarity. Then a permanent magnet roll 3 which has N and S magnetic polarities on the surface is provided at the bottom part of a toner tank 1 and a sleeve 4 is provided coaxially with the permanent magnet roll 3; and the both are provided relatively rotatably, a bias voltage source 6 is connected to the sleeve 4, and the low-frequency AC bias voltage is applied to the magnetic toner to perform the development. Consequently, the image of high density and high resolution is obtained without inducing any ground fogging.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a high-quality picture by connecting a freely rotatable fur brush and a recovering roll respectively with an a.c. bias voltage impressing means electrically and making the fur brush and the recovering roll into mutual opposite phases. CONSTITUTION:A fur brush 10 is formed to a cylindrical shape with a conductive material, the outer circumference of the brush 10 is brought into contact with the surface of a sensitive body 1 and provided freely rotatably through a rotation shaft composed of the conductive material, and a sleeve 12, in which a magnet roll 11 is built, is brought into contact and provided on the outer circumference. Thereafter, the a.c. bias voltage can be impressed to the rotation shaft 9 and the sleeve 12 mutually in opposite phase with a.c. bias voltage impressing means 14 and 15. Therefore, magnetites separated from a residual magnetic toner 2a of the sensitive body 1 and a magnetic toner are brought into contact with the fur brush 10, the positive and negative charges are removed, and when the magnetites reach a contacting place with the sleeve 12, the charges are completely removed by an opposite-phase a.c. bias voltage, and the magnetites are attracted on the surface of the sleeve 12. Thus, a high- quality picture without any base fogging can be obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the fluidity and the carrying property of a toner in the titled method, by using an electric charge type magnetic toner which contains a metal salt of a fatty acid and adds externally a hydrophilic silica, for the titled method. CONSTITUTION:The electric charge type magnetic toner which contains the metal salt of the fatty acid and adds externally the hydrophilic silica is used for the titled method. In this case, the fatty acid part of the metal salt of the fatty acid contg. in the magnetic toner is exemplified by stearic acid or oleic acid, etc., and one or two or more kinds of a mixture thereof may be used. And, the metal salt of the fatty acid is exemplified by a cadmium salt or a barium salt thereof, etc., and one or two or more kinds of the mixture thereof may be used. And, the contact between a blade and a developing roll is remarkably smoothened by lying the magnetic toner contg. the metal salt of the fatty acid between the blade and said roll. And, the fluidity of the magnetic toner is improved by adding externally the hydrophilic silica to said toner, and especially, in case that a negative electric charge magnetic toner is used for the titled method, the electric charge amount of the magnetic toner increases, thereby improving the developing property of said toner.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a copy image of good quality by applying a DC voltage to a corotron at low humidity and applying a DC pulse voltage to the corotron at high humidity. CONSTITUTION:The transfer corotron 7 is connected to a DC voltage source 11 and a pulse voltage power source 12 through a changeover switch 10, which is connected to a humidity sensor 14 through a control circuit 13. The control circuit 13 compares the output of the humidity sensor 14 with a reference value of humidity and changes contacts of the switch 10. Namely, the changeover switch 10 is switched to the DC voltage source 12 when the humidity is not high and to the pulse voltage source 13 at high humidity. Thus, the DC voltage is applied to the transfer corotron 7 at normal or low humidity and the DC pulse voltage to the transfer corotron 7 at high humidity, so that the resistance of a transfer sheet 6 does not decreases at the normal or low humidity. Consequently, an excellent copy is taken over a wide environmental condition range.
