    • PURPOSE:To suppress the decrease in the amount of floating, even if the flowing angle of air to the slider is changed, by providing a shallow groove making the bearing action at the middle to the lengthwise direction of a flat part of a slider rail. CONSTITUTION:When a slider 1 is positioned at almost middle of a magnetic disc with a rotating type actuator, since air flows to a slide rail 2 of the slider 1 along the lengthwise direction, a normal floating force can be obtained. When the slider 1 is positioned at a position corresponding to the beginning or end of the magnetic disc, two bearing actions; a wedge bearing action by a slope 3 and a flat part 4 and a step bearing action by a step 5b and a flat part 6 of a groove 5 are given to the air flowing to the side surface of the slider 1. Thus, even when the slope angle of the slider 1 is greater to the circumferential direction of air flow, the pressure generated to the flat parts 4 and 6 is almost the same degree of pressure when the tilt angle is zero, allowing to prevent the decrease in the amount of floating caused at the increase in the tilt angle of the slider 1.

    • PURPOSE:To simplify a manufacture process and to improve cross-talk, by forming a magnetic material layer for shielding between tracks of an upper magnetic material layer and magnetically connecting it to a lower common magnetic material layer. CONSTITUTION:On a substrate 5, a lower common magnetic material layer 2 is formed uniformly, and an insulator layer 7, conductor layers 4a and 4b, an insulator layer 6, and upper magnetic material layers 1a-1c which have tracks with track width are formed in prescribed shapes. Between tracks of the upper magnetic material layers 1a-1c of a multielement thin-film magnetic head, magnetic material layers 9a and 9b for shielding are formed in prescribed shapes and connected magnetically to the lower common magnetic material layer 2. The magnetic material layers 9a and 9b are formed in the same process with, for example, the upper magnetic material layers 1a-1c.

    • PURPOSE:To increase a core inteval and core length while decreasing gap depth by forming a lower magnetic material film to the track widdh of a head by patterning, and by using an upper magnetic material film in common to respective channels. CONSTITUTION:A lower magnetic material film 11, made of an Fe-Si-Al magnetic material on a substrate 10, constitutes a lower core. An insulator film (SiO2) 42 is formed on the top surface of the lower magnetic material film 11, and conductor films 2 are formed on the insulator film 42 to form coils 21 and 21. The coils 21 and 21 are formed rectangularly and have multilayered structure, and polyamide resin 6 provided to the coils 21 and 21 flattens surfaces between the layers. An upper magnetic material film 12 made of an Ni-Pe magnetic material is so formed that the film thickness of a tapered part of the resin 6 does not decrese, and form an upper core. The lower and upper cores 11 and 12 constitute a magnetic circuit 1.
