The fourth rotary shaft 204 is kept stationary at the second and fifth speeds, and the lubricating oil fed to an oil chamber 116 from an oil chamber 117 in the first rotary shaft 201 via an oil passage 131 is forcefully fed via oil passages 114 and 115 of a center support 113. On the other hand, the lubricating oil fed to the oil chamber 116 enters an outside space 120 by the rotary centrifugal force of the fourth rotary shaft 204 at the first speed, the feed to the oil passage 115 is stopped, and lubricating oil is fed to the fourth clutch 34 via an oil passage 132 by that quantity. Lubricating oil is fed to the first one-way clutch 41 via an oil passage 121 and to the bearing 111 and thrust washer 112 of the planetary gear mechanisms 22 and 24 via oil passages 122 and 123. satisfactory lubrication is performed accordingly.

    • PURPOSE:To miniaturize the captioned device by providing a first bridge having holes for making planetary pinions pass through and second and third bridges for pivotally supporting the planetary pinions, on a carrier for rotatably supporting two planetary pinions. CONSTITUTION:In planetary gear mechanisms 22, 24 which commonly use planetary pinions 224 and a ring gear, the planetary pinions 224 are rotatably supported by a carrier 223. The carrier 223 consists of a first bridge 223a having a plurality of holes 225 through which the planetary pinions 224 pass and openings 226 formed between each of the holes and second and third bridges 223b, 223c which extend to both sides thereof to rotatably support the planetary pinions 224. The leg portions of the second and third bridges 223b, 223c are inserted into the plurality of openings 226 in a radially laminated condition and are fixed by means of welding. Hence, by increasing the number of the planetary pinions 224 to reduce load distribution, the length of sun gears 221, 241 can be made smaller. Thus, the captioned device can be miniaturized as a whole.
