    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for removing foreign matter and separating oil from water, by which the work of separating/recovering different kinds of oil and solid-state foreign matter can be done in one and the same separation tank in parallel. SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with the separation tank (4) where a water-soluble coolant containing foreign matter and oil is made to flow in. The tank (4) has a first storage part (20) which has an oil outlet (23) and is used for precipitating the foreign matter contained in the water-soluble coolant, a second storage part (21) which has a coolant outlet (12) and is divided from the first storage part (20) by the surface layer of the water-soluble coolant, a first weir (26) for introducing the oil floating on the surface layer of the water-soluble coolant into the outlet (23) and a second weir (32) for introducing the oil-separated water-soluble coolant into the outlet (12). The tank (4) is furthermore provided with a conveyer (3) for discharging the foreign matter precipitated at the bottom of the first storage part (20) to the outside of the tank (4).
