    • PURPOSE:To lighten and miniaturize a lead acid battery by forming double electrodes of an electrode plate, composed of conductive fiber holding active material, and a lead frame of a special form joined via conductive material. CONSTITUTION:Notches 4 are formed in the inner sides of a lead frame 1, and folded parts 3 are formed along a folded line. Conductive fibers 5 are caught with the notches 4 of the folded parts 3 of the lead frame 1 to be stretched around at the degree of retaining active material. Lead paste 6 is packed in the conductive fibers 6 to be formed to be retained. Two resultant electrode plates are joined via the conductive material to form a double electrode plate 8. Plural double electrode plates 8 are provided in an electrolyte jar, in which an electrolyte is housed, via diaphragms to form a lead acid battery. A miniature and light weight lead acid battery can be provided with the use quantity of lead reduced.

    • PURPOSE: To thermally fuse and bond an electrode plate and a battery terminal without thermally damaging a battery case. CONSTITUTION: A lead-based battery terminal 10 is molded in a case so that only an outer end 18 thereof is positioned outside of a case 26. A terminal has a thin stripe 12 provided with a channel 14 that can receive a protrusion 42 and a projection 44 integrally with an anode and cathode electrode plates 34-40 disposed alternately. After the electrode plate and a separator 55 have been disposed, a glass bead 52 is inserted into a space and a protrusion is supported with a protrusion engaged in a strap channel. Next, a case is substantial water-tightness state and is partially inserted into a circulating water tank 60 inhibiting thermal damage of the case. Then, a low-voltage magnetic inductive heater is electrically biased, a strap and a protrusion are heated, and these are fused together.

    • PURPOSE:To increase the degree of freedom of the performance and shape of a lead acid battery and accomplish it at a low cost by putting a pos. electrode acting substance in close contact with one side of the conductive intercellular bulkhead consisting of lead or lead alloy, while a substance for neg. electrode in tight contact with the other side, and eliminating use of any intercellular connecting conductor. CONSTITUTION:A pos. electrode acting substance 16 and a neg. electrode acting substance 18 in paste form chiefly containing lead oxide are fitted by pressure into an intermediate unit extrapolating member 17 from its both sides, followed by putting in close contact with an intercellular bulkhead 13, and a separator 5 is inserted to constitute each intermediate unit. A pos. electrode terminal side unit is, on the other hand, constituted by fitting by pressure a paste-form pos. electrode acting substance 16 chiefly containing lead oxide into the armature 15 of a pos. electrode side unit, followed by putting in tight contact with a current collector 14 and interposing of a separator 5. Further a neg. electrode terminal side unit is constituted by fitting by pressure the paste-form neg. electrode acting substance 18 chiefly containing lead oxide into armature 19, followed by putting in close contact with the current collector 14. A battery as the object is accomplished from these pos. electrode terminal side unit, intermediate units (two pieces), and neg. electrode terminal unit, which are bonded together or welded, wherein the number of intermediate units depends upon the voltage.
