    • PURPOSE: To display one-dimensional information as two-dimensional information on an image receiving tube by oscillating a lens or an LED array in the direction orthogonal to the arrangement direction of LED elements. CONSTITUTION: This image display device is constituted of an LED array 1 formed of a plurality of LED elements arranged one-dimensionally, a lens 3 for image formation of light emitted from each LED element on an image receiving tube, and a lens driving mechanism. The lens 3 is oscillated by means of the lens driving mechanism in the direction X orthogonal to the arrangement direction Z of the LED elements in the LED array 1. A light beam from the LED array 1 magnified in association with the oscillation of the lens 3 is expanded in the oscillation X of the lens 3 through an after image and displayed as a flat plane image. Consequently, by sequentially displaying image information one-dimensionally at an appropriate timing on the LED array 1 and oscillating the lens 3 interlocking with this display, two-dimensional image information is displayed on the image receiving screen.

    • PURPOSE:To display the letter-forms of characters, etc., with the smooth curves by a smaller number of light emitting sources by providing a reflecting mirror, oscillating means and the plural light emitting sources which are flickered in accordance with the frequency of the reflecting mirror. CONSTITUTION:This device has the reflecting mirror 36 which is formed with a smooth reflecting surface 38, the oscillation means 46, 60 which oscillate the reflecting mirror 36 around the axial line parallel with the reflecting surface 38 at a specified amplitude and frequency and the plural light emitting sources 70 which are arranged on the straight line parallel with the axial line and are respectively discretely flickered in accordance with the frequency of the reflecting mirror 36. The incident angles alpha of the light rays radiated from the light emitting sources 70 to the reflecting surface 38 during the oscillation of the reflecting mirror 36 respectively satisfy the relation 0
