Such a knowledge substance is provided with a branch control object including a procedure that reproduces a knowledge substance equal to its own substance and erases its own and other knowledge substances, the reproduction/ erasion timing, and the knowledge of the resource scheduling of the knowledge substance. When a conflict occurs, the inference processing operations of difference cases are carried out in parallel with each other with the use of a reproduction (branch) of its own knowledge substance. Thus it is possible to evaluate the strategies and to improve the reliability and the man-machine performance of an inference.

    • PURPOSE:To attain the movement of a display range by as much as an arbitrary quantity in an arbitrary direction within the range of virtual screen data by as much as the moving quantity of the range displayed on a screen in the virtual screen data by determining the difference between the coordinates of a pointed point and the coordinates of a center mark and determining the above-mentioned moving quantity. CONSTITUTION:The displaying of a part of the virtual screen data on a display 2 is executed by announcing the range (coordinates) desired to be displayed to a computer system 1. The coordinates of an arbitrary point are announced to the computer system 1 when the arbitrary point on the screen is picked by a pointing device 3. If, therefore, a memory devices 4 holds the virtual screen data, such moving quantity as to determine the pointed point as the center of the display range is determined from this display range and the coordinate value at the pointed arbitrary point of the display range by the pointing device 3 and the display range displayed on a display 2 can be changed by using this quantity. Thus, the moving of the display screen by the arbitrary quantity in the arbitrary direction within the range of the virtual screen data is executed.

CONSTITUTION:The receiver 1 which receives the radio waves from the GPS satellite is built in the timepiece and the longitude and latitude of the position of the receiver 1 are determined by a processor 2. Calculation is made as to which time zone the present place belongs to by a processor 3 which converts the standard time to the local time in accordance with the longitude and latitude obtd. in such a manner. The local time is obtd therefrom. The time zone is the territory depending on the borders or state borders of various countries of the world. The closed territories of the respective time zones are stored in the form of approximation to segment lines in a memory 6. The longitude range of the respective time zones corresponding to the latitude is determined with respect to the given position of the receiver 1. The local time is determined as the corresponding time zone if the latitude of the given position of the receiver 1 exists in the prescribed range.
