    • PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a printer without causing breakdown of the door of a tractor, by constructing the printer such that lower end portion of door engages with a resilient projection of tractor body upon opening of the door. CONSTITUTION:Upon closure of a cover 4 with door 11 of a reactor 9 being opened (failure to close it in the direction of an arrow B), lower end of the cover 4 contacts the door 11. Here, pushing force of the upper cover 4 against the door 11 transmits from the lower end 11a of door to a projection 9a so as to deform the projection 9a resiliently thus disengaging the lower end 11a of door from the projection 9a and rotating the door 11 in the direction of an arrow C together with the upper cover 4. At this time, a sound is produced to alarm opening of the door 11. Consequently, the cover 4 is closed upon closure of the door 11. Since the door 11 is not broken down, the tractor 9 can be arranged near the cover 4 resulting in reduction of the size of a printer.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a printer in which inspection and replacement of a ribbon guide can be performed within the width of a paper feeding passage, by a construction wherein a paper guide constituting a paper feeder is provided with an inspection port for replacing the ribbon guide, and a paper guide piece constituting a part of the paper guide is detachably fitted to an inspection port part. CONSTITUTION:A printer comprises a paper guide 2 provided with an inspection port for replacement of a ribbon guide 1, a feeding roller 4 for feeding a printing paper 3, a pressure roller 5 for pressing the paper 3 against the roller 4, a printing head 6 for printing on the paper 3, a platen 8 for receiving an impact force of the head 6, and an ink ribbon 9 for printing on the paper by wires of the head 6. The head 6 is fixed to a carrier base 10 fitted to a support rail 11 so that it can be slidden, and is moved leftward and rightward in the column directions. The inspection port 12a is provided at a part of the paper guide 2, and a guide piece 12 is removed through this part. The guide piece 12 is flush with the inside surface of the paper guide 2 so that the paper 3 being fed is not caught by the guide piece. Thus, the overall width W of a printer can be set to a required minimum width.

    • PURPOSE:To shorten the length of an issued card and to enhance printing quality, by performing reverse feed and positive feed in combination after the cutting of paper. CONSTITUTION:After printing paper 1 has been cut, reverse feed is performed to replace a dimension LA with a dimension LB. When printing is performed in the state of a dimension LB from a printing head 5, a sprocket hole 1a at the time of the print ing of a first line is engaged with a push tractor pin 2a in such a state that a contact point is present in the side of roll paper. Therefore, the difference DELTAepsilon between the diameters of the hole and the pin exerts effect on the pitch P1 of a first line and a second line and difference is generated between the pitch P1 and the pitch P2 on and after the second line and a dimension G1 comes to a narrow interval by a dimen sion DELTAepsilon to lower printing quality. Therefore, the engagement of the sprocket hole 1a and the push tractor pin 2a imparts a slight positive feed dimension delta(delta>DELTAepsilon) from the reverse feed dimension LB at the time of the printing of first line to set paper so as to perform the printing of the first line in the dimension L2 from the leading end thereof. As mentioned above, by combining reverse feed and positive feed, all of line intervals and the intervals of printing characters can respectively be kept constant set to P2 and G2 to obtain good printing quality.
