SOLUTION: The core has a JIS-C center hardness of 50-70, a JIS-C surface hardness of 60-80 and a diameter of 35-40 mm, the intermediate layer is made of an ionomer resin as a main material, has a JIS-C hardness of 70-85, a thickness of 0.5-2 mm, the cover is made of an ionomer resin as a main material, has a JIS-C hardness of 85 or more, a thickness of 0.5-2 mm, then, the intermediate layer is harder than the core surface by 9 or less in terms of the JIS-C hardness, the cover is harder than the intermediate layer by 10 or more in terms of the JIS-C hardness, the gradient of the hardness of the core, the intermediate layer and the cover is 6 or more, and the dimples are arranged so that no great circle line not intersecting with the dimples is present at all in the golf ball.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball which is excellent in durability while having an extremely soft hitting feeling, and can increase the carry by a low spinning, a high hitting out and a high repulsiveness. SOLUTION: This golf ball is equipped with a solid core, an intermediate layer, and a cover. Also, numerous dimples are formed on the surface of the golf ball. In such a golf ball, the center JIS-C hardness of the solid core is 50 to 70, the surface JIS-C hardness is 60 to 80, and the diameter is 35 to 40 mm. The intermediate layer is formed of an ionomer resin as the main component. Also, the JIS-C hardness of the intermediate layer is 70 to 85, and the thickness is 0.5 to 2 mm. The cover is formed of an ionomer resin as the main component. Also, the JIS-C hardness of the cover is 85 or higher, and the thickness is 0.5 to 2 mm. At the same time, the difference in the JIS-C hardness between the intermediate layer and the surface of the solid core (|the intermediate layer - the solid core surface|) is 15 or lower, and the difference in the JIS-C hardness between the cover and the intermediate layer (|the cover - the intermediate layer|) is 10 or higher. Then, each hardness of the solid core, the intermediate layer or the cover satisfies a relationship of (a hardness gradient from the intermediate layer to the cover)/(a hardness gradient from the core center to the intermediate layer)>=6. Also, the dimples are arranged in such a manner that there may be no great circle line which does not cross the dimples.

SOLUTION: In the multilayer golf ball, two or more cover layers are formed over a core 2, a large number of recesses are formed on the inner side layer of the two cover layers 11, which are adjacent to each other, while protrusions are formed on the outer side layer thereof so that each protrusion penetrates into corresponding recess. A great circular ridgeline 12 having the same length as the outer circumference of the inner side layer, not in contact with the recesses, is formed. At least two arcuate redgelines 13, each of which intersects the great circular ridgeline 12 at right angles and has a length of at least one- fourth the outer circumference of the inner side layer, are formed on one of semispheres 11a between a pole 14 and the above great circular ridgeline. Each ridgeline 13 is not in contact with the recesses between the great circular ridgeline 12 and a point circumferentially offset by 30 deg. from a pole, while the recesses are disposed in a region defined by the arcuate ridgelines symmetrically with respect to the arcuate redgeline 13 on each of semispherical parts divided by the great circular ridgeline 12.
