The rotation of the sensor rotor 9 mounted on the carrier 2 is detected with the sensor pickup 10 on the outer circumference of the planetary gear P. As a result, an input rotation of a planetary gear transmission gear is always detected regardless of the fixing or releasing of a sungear 4 with a brake 8.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve fuel consumption and durability and reduce engagement sound for a vehicle by preventing a secondary speed change part from shifting to non-directly-coupled state and allowing it to stay in the directly-coupled state to achieve a target speed change stage upon down shifting. CONSTITUTION:An automatic transmission 2 comprises a torque converter 111, a secondary speed change part 112, and a primary speed change part 113. In the secondary speed change part 112, an intermediate shaft rotates at the same speed as an input shaft 130 while a clutch C0 or a one way clutch F0 is engaged. In addition, a ring gear 134 acceleratedly rotates against the input shaft 130 while a brake B0 is engaged to stop the rotation of a gear 133. As a result, the secondary speed change part can be switched between directly- coupled and non-directly-coupled states. The primary speed change part 113 includes three sets of mechanisms 140, 150, 160 which allow a plurality of speed change stages. When used for down shifting, this speed control gear prevents the secondary speed control part from shifting to non-directly-coupled state and allowing it to stay in the directly-coupled state. Therefore, the absence of relative rotation of each gear in the secondary speed control part serves to improve the transmission efficiency.

CONSTITUTION:When, at a step 320, it is decided that quick feed control of a friction engaging device is practicable, a 3 2 down shift is executed according to a normal shift pattern wherein a 3 2 down shift line is set on the low load side and torque down of an engine is executed (at stops 370-430) and the quick feed control is executed (at a step 410). This constitution improves acceleration performance without the occurrence of upwash of an engine. Meanwhile, when the quick feed control is impracticable, a shift is executed (at a step 440) according to a shift pattern wherein a 3 2 down shift line is set on the high load side and blow-up of an engine is prevented from occurring.

CONSTITUTION:When a command for a 2-3 shift is received, a linear solenoid valve 45 feeds a signal oil pressure for regulation of a pressure is fed to a drain control valve 220 of a second clutch, and an oil pressure in a servo 12S is drained to dring the second clutch into a slight slip state. In this case, when the feed on an oil pressure to a servo 13S of a third clutch is not completed and the third clutch does not start transmission of torque yet, the number of input revolutions is about to increase. In which case, a linear solenoid valve 45 controls a signal oil pressure as a change in the number of revolutions is monitored to hold the slip state of a second clutch. When the third clutch states transmission of torgue, a shift to a third speed is started, and the number of input revolutions is about to decrease. Through detection of the change in the number of revolutions, the second clutch is rapidly released to complete a shift to a third speed.

By providing this constitution, the first oil chamber 6600 of an engaging device is communicated to the oil pressure source through a shift control means during a shift, and a feed oil pressure is controlled by a pressure regulating means to perform smooth engagement. On completion of a shift, the second oil chamber 6700 is communicated directly to the oil pressure chamber not through the pressure regulating means by means of a shift means to rapidly increase torque capacity.
