    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermostat with an insulating cover which can prevent its body case from slipping down through a string member with which a fixed portion is fastened.
      SOLUTION: The thermostat body of a thermostat 1 comprises an operation portion consisting of a movable contact 5 and a stationary contact 2; and a solid portion disposed on the other end side of the operation portion, and covered with a resin cover 14. The resin cover 14 has a protrusion 15 and an upper face of lower side 16 of a stepped structure 16 the structure, and also has a slope 18 between the upper face of the lower side 16 and 17 an upper face of the upper side of the stepped structure. The thermostat 1 is mounted on an electric apparatus such as the coil 27 of a motor, and fastened to it by winding a string member 20 such as a band for fixing over the solid portion consisting of the protrusion 15 and the lower side 16 of the stepped structure. The upper face of the lower side 16 for being wound with the string member 20 has the protrusion 15 or the rising slope 18 on either side, then the thermostat 1 can be prevented from slipping down through the string member 20 with which the upper face of the lower side 16 is wound.
