    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce advancing drive force or propulsion force acting on a feed arrow not only in a process for cutting a product in which a main shaft of an automatic lathe moves longitudinally but in a process for moving back the main shaft in which a chuck of the main shaft opens to move the main shaft to backward. SOLUTION: A bar material supply machine 1 supplies the bar material W to a main shaft 21 of a lathe. A magnetic clutch 17 of a bar material supply machine is released and drive force of a feed arrow 13 is released in whole of process for cutting a product. The main shaft 21 and the feed arrow 13 are relatively coupled through a power transmission device 3 in synchronous association and the feed arrow 13 is synchronous with longitudinal movement of the main shaft 21 and moves longitudinally. A holding device 50 closes a holding member 51 to hold the bar material W for restricting its longitudinal movement just before the main shaft 21 which finished respective product processing (every product processing) opens a collet chuck 22 and the transmission device 3 blocks a transmission path with the main shaft 21 and the feed arrow 13 by releasing the magnetic clutch 34. The holding device 50 releases the holding member and the transmission device 3 fastens the magnetic clutch 34 just after the main shaft moves backward and the collet chuck closes.

    • PURPOSE:To effectively restrict rotational run-out at the time of bar working while shortening the length of a feeding arrow, and to enable the entire length of the feeding arrow to be set in a specific manner, regardless of the types of lathes. CONSTITUTION:Run-out-stop units 30, 40, 42, 44 are supported on a guide means 10 so that they can move on a working axis X-X, and have a run-out-stop device 70 provided with an elastic bar holding tool. The main run-out-stop unit 30 in the farthest end is provided with a bar feeding member 13 for pressing the rear end part of the bar toward an automatic lathe, and a position detection means 82 for detecting the position of the rear end surface of the bar. The run-out-stop device and the bar feeding member are connected to one another so that they are processed in parallel to one another by means of the driving devices 14, 18 of the bar feeding member. The position detection means 82 is connected to a controller for receding the main run-out stop unit 30 until the protrusion of the rear end part of the bar fed from the rear end of the run-out-stop device 70, reaches a specific level.

    • PURPOSE:To operate a swing check device, in an optimum position responding to the degree of bending of a rod material by moving the swing check device independently from movement of the rod material. CONSTITUTION:In a rod material feeder 20, a rod material feed member 25 moved along an axis X-X of a rod material W fed to a machining device and pressing the rear end part of the rod material W and a rod material swing check device 10 to rotatably nip the rod material W to be machined by the machining device and suppress the occurrence of a rotation swing is located along the axis of the rod material W. The rod material swing check device 10 is slidably supported to a rail 23 by means of a slide block 24. When the rod material W grasped by a finger chuck 25a is fed to a rod material machining device by a given machining amount, the rod material swing check device 10 is moved to a position, where the swing of the rod material can be suppressed to a maximum limit according to the degree of bending of the rod material, independently from movement of the rod material W.
