    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a current amplifying element capable of directly amplifying current using avalanche multiplication, and satisfying both high sensitivity and the speediness of a response speed in a linear mode operation.
      SOLUTION: This current amplifying element includes: an n-type semiconductor well (n-well) 104 formed on a surface of a semiconductor substrate symmetrically around the center axis to make a plan view circular; a p-type semiconductor region 112 concentrically formed in the n-well; an n-type semiconductor region 112 concentrically formed in the p-type semiconductor region; and a plurality of electrodes for applying a forward bias voltage and a reverse bias voltage. A surface inside the n-well is formed so that the radius thereof is reduced toward the substrate back face in a range of a predetermined distance from the center axis, and the radius is increased toward the substrate back face outside the range.
