    • NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formula I (A is H, or acyl; B is H, alkyl, or acyl; with the proviso that one of A and B is acyl; R is alkyl; R' is H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkoxy, or phenyl).
      EXAMPLE: 1-Methyl-formyl-3-(3-t-butyl-5-isoxazolyl)urea.
      USE: A herbicide. Showing improved herbicidal activity with a small amount of it used. Having extremely low toxicity to maize, sugar cane, soybeans, cotton, etc.
      PROCESS: An isocyanuric ester shown by the formula II is reacted with an acylamide shown by the formula R'-NH-B in a solvent such as benzene, chloroform, etc. at 30W150°C, preferably at 60W120°C under heating to give a compound shown by the formula I (when B is acyl).
