    • PURPOSE:To improve accuracy of copying welding in which running line is not parallel with weld line by installing a speed detector, a detector of angle between the weld line and the running line and a copying detector to a welding truck that runs straight on a running line and changing the speed of vertical movement of a copying device according to the speed of the truck. CONSTITUTION:The running speed of a truck is detected by a running speed detector 11. Then, discrimination for plus or minus is made by a running direction discriminator 14 and the result is inputted to an arithmetic part 15. On the other hand, an angle theta formed by a weld line W and the running line T of the truck is detected by an angle detector 12 and inputted to the arithmetic unit 15. Moving speed of the welding head perpendicular to the running line is then operated and inputted to an adder 16. At this time, a signal from a copying detector 13 is also inputted to the adder 16, and above-mentioned result of operation is corrected. Then, instruction is given to a motor drive 17 and a copying motor M rotates at a speed according to the instruction.

CONSTITUTION:The inner face flat welding of a steel pipe having a tab plate fitted to both end parts of weld line in the longitudinal direction is carried out in welding stage A. Then, by rotating a turning roller Rt, the steel pipe is rotated at least angle theta1 in the circumferential direction so that the tab plate may not interfere with a conveying roller Rc. This steel pipe is sent into welding stage B, and is further rotated by the turning roller Rt, and the tab plate is detected by a tab plate detector 4 which is like a limit switch of a specified position, of which signal causes to stop the rotation of the roller Rt. Thus, after positioning the weld line, the outer face flat welding is performed from the upper part of the steel pipe. Besides, when welding in both stages, after placing the steel pipe, the roller Rt is raised or the roller Fc is lowered, and the weld line position may be adjusted by the tab plate detection by the detector.

When a pipe P makes one turn and the electrode W' approaches to a succeeding start position B, a detector 21' goes on, and a signal is emitted to a motor 9 so that a main slider 10 moves upward by the rate of deposition for one pass by the electrode W. The electrode W' moves upward by the rate A in the position B and the electrode W descends by the rate A. When the electrode W' arrives at the preceding start position and the succeeding electrode W arrives at the succeeding start position B, the electrodes ascend respectively simultaneously by the rate A. In such a way the pipe P is subjected to butt and tandem welding.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent automatically generation of thickness deviation in a weld bea in the TIG arc welding stage in which welding is executed while a welding torch is oscillated by controlling the vertical and lateral movement of the welding torch by the voltage from a welding voltage detector. CONSTITUTION:Base metals 1 having the groove formed into an inverted trapezoidal shape are welded by a filler wire 4 of an electrode 3 while the welding torch 2 is vertically and laterally moved according to the groove shape. The arc voltage during welding is detected by a detector 16 and the voltage is inputted to a control part 17 in order to execute constant arc length welding. The signal for the vertical axial position of the welding torch 2 detected by an encoder 14 is inputted thereto at the same instant. The control signal for the vertical axial movement of the torch 2 is fed to a motor 13 for a vertical axial slider 12 and the control signal for the lateral axial movement is fed to a motor 11 for a lateral axial slider 10 in the control part 17 to control adequately the vertical and lateral movements of the torch 2 in order to maintain the specified length of the arc between the wire 4 and the base metals 1, by which the weld bead having no thickness deviation is formed.

    • PURPOSE:To stabilize welding arcs and to prevent the generation of welding defects such as lack of penetration by stopping a welding head which is controlled of automatic running while a welding electric source is in a short circuited state or in a no-load state. CONSTITUTION:When the leading end of a welding wire is brought into contact with the surface of the groove of base materials and welding is started, a welding power source is short circuited and the detected voltage signal Vx of the welding voltage detected with a voltage divider 18 is roughly zero. Therefore, the signal Vx is not applied to the 2nd decision circuit 21, the contacts 16-1 of a relay 16 are opened and the welding head stops in the set position. When the welding arc extinguishes on account of a certain cause later, that is, when the welding power source is put in a no-load state, the output voltage increases and the signal Vx of the voltage divider 18 increases as well. When the signal Vx exceeds the permissible upper limit voltage, the circuit 21 stops transmission to the relay 16 and the motor stops. Therefore, the welding head stops in the welding position where the welding arc extinguishes.
