    • PURPOSE:To increase the activity of a catalyst and to reduce the consuming amount of expensive precious metals by depositing >=1 kind of rare-earth metallic oxide and colloidal, precious metallic corpuscles on an inorg. carrier, and constituting a combustion catalyst. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst with precious metals deposited thereon for producing high-temp. gas at a plant utilizing said gas obtained by catalytic combustion of fuel is prepared by depositing rare-earth metallic compds. which are converted to oxides by calicination or rare-earth metallic oxides on an inorg. carrier such as alumina, drying, and calcining. Furthermore, a liquid contg. colloidal, precious metallic corpuscles is deposited on the carrier to dry and calcine. As a result, not only catalytic activity is increased, but also the precious metallic corpuscles are distributed only at the neighborhood of the catalytic surface, by which the consuming amount of precious metals is decreased and the lowering of catalytic activity is reduced. Thus, the catalyst having superior durability is obtd.
