SOLUTION: The power conversion apparatus sets a resistance value of a braking resistor that consumes the deceleration rotation energy of a motor as heat energy through an operation panel equipped on the power conversion apparatus. The current passed through the regenerative braking circuit is computed from this set resistance value, and a loss produced in the power semiconductor in the regenerative braking circuit at this current value is determined.
